*
ya..maybe true..as per observe, ddr2 board not so high clock for B50.
but its OK as can OC abit on x4 550. bang for buck.
play game on x2 stock 3.1Ghz also satisfied with PhenomII. extra L3 cache naise!!

3.0ghz already satisfied.. laugh.gif
the voltage so low.. i love it  thumbup.gif
*
yeah.. low temp. 29-32 on idle no aircond + hot day. low vcore as i use 1.15vcore
after this will try to low x4 3.1Ghz vcore..
no time to play2 yet as to setup new fans into casing. add 5 more fans wink.gif
but my Gcard too hot 53c idle.. this also make ambient and airflow in the casing hot.. vmad.gif

Yup. 3.8GHz prime stable. smile.gif

-pWs-

huhu..nice speed.
last night i tried 3.8 also. but not prime stable.
just pump 1.45vcore not dare to push more.no mosfet cooler sweat.gif
just can run 3Dmark06. prime failed 2 minute.

just want to try to see benchmark, just add 1000point over 3.4Ghz prime stable.
it seem my gcard come to the limit. that good news that my proc not bottleneck like before.

but all the time run x2 3.1G 1.15vcore for green2 PC.

yup, old models of biostar 790gx boards have weaker pwm (4 phase) if compared to newer (4+1 phase). noticeable change in components used (especially chokes) also make d latter better than their predecessors too.  rclxms.gif

1.4Xv for benchy still considered ok but not long hours primin...  nod.gif
*
then..if i put mosfet cooler, it is safe to run 1.4x vcore ?
looking around for mosfet cooler as for northbridge i put a small fan 40x40.
mosfet still naked without any heatsink. any suggestion how to cool the mosfet?

as my xigmatek push air upside, then need active cooling for mosfet ..
is CCF air push to the rear ?

for short hours llike 1 ~ 2 hours still manageable imo, but not those 12 hours or above, it's kinda suicide move if one is to do that. budget boards sure have their limits... sometimes ppl pay lpeanuts but expectin premium quality/performance in return...  sweat.gif

i used something like this back then when i owned 790gx a2+ & 790gx 128m. too bad there're no longer available nowdays. didn't keep spare for myself...  doh.gif

yup, ccf push air towards exhaust fan which imo is better than south-north setup (blowin upwards). but still, for TRUE it doesn't matter i guess...  wub.gif
*
yes..smthing like that.
premium board come with nice mosfet cooler. but its ok to get this biostar as value for money.
and slowly it teach me to add more cooler in my system doh.gif

this 1 is also OK. but kind hard to find in forum ppl sell mosfet cooler.

impossible..u have 40mm fan on NB heatsink..mine dont...my ccf blow from the front to back side.. tongue.gif
*
we got 'twin rig' here.. we have found them here. like jejak kasih tv3..
my heatsink still stock xigmatek fan. then it still hot when load.

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Aug 4 2009, 10:38 AM)
gud coolin doesn't necessarily mean big spendin, especially for chipset/mosfet coolin. some creativity + tools (if diy needed) are all d things needed. premium brands like asus/msi/giga/dfi not always offer gud components coolin especially for their mid range boards. even top of d line like rog/deluxe (a$u$), ud5/6 (giga), GD (msi), UT(dfi) need some tweak for optimal performance, let alone those mid range boards which come w/ so-so (imo) coolin for parts like pwm/chipset.  smile.gif
*
QUOTE(cloudwan @ Aug 4 2009, 10:49 AM)
Yup with some creativity a simple RM15 sinks with a RM20 60mm fan is more than enuff to do the cooling for the pwm tongue.gif
*
yes rite..some cheap + creative can make better cooling.
just add 40x40mm fan to my northbridge. maybe mosfet after this.
have to find a way to do it.. sweat.gif

For Phenom IIs, above 30c is considered hot edi....

0c is the 'overclocking optimal' temperature...anything above 5c is considered 'overheat'....

gotta agree on that sir, especially for some users (mostly new i guess) from other camp... amd hot... amd slow (they're partly rite thou)...  tongue.gif

i dont understand it.. 30c hot ? then mine always hot for idle 30c load 35c with ambient 28c. blink.gif

i tried this before.. 1.15v for 3.1GHz..
but i got this problem..my graphic got error..
my game crash(dota only sweat.gif ).. my sidebar crash..
desktop blink2.. the ATI driver crash.. need to restart PC.

now bump 1.18vcore for 3.1GHz..not problem yet..
this is due to OS crash or vcore problem?

(ignore the PCIE witdh..i have prob with that...not insert dupe card = x1. insert = x8 )

@superb88
u have to determine urself.. got few ppl using 720 here...u may ask cloudwan for his result..but ur result might differ then...

leave ur comp 6days per week? torrent? then i suggest u undervolt and underclock for a greener environment..dont foget to pull out ur GC as well.. -this is not related to ur question at all  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  nod.gif
*
last time i dont pull out the GC, just pull out the pcie power cable. it seem GC still detected. cant use build in GC.
any harm to GC if always pull out and store in box, then put in when want 2 use?
cant tahan the GC heat output. rolleyes.gif
