install the new mobo in.....but cant detect my IDE hdd and ide dvd-rom.
sata work fine...but in BIOS detected ok.........

change the cable also nothing..any idea guys? antonio?? sad.gif  sad.gif
*
Before u do the following, I assume you are already bootin into Windows and still can't detect even after installing AMD drivers.... rolleyes.gif

Probably the jumper selection for the CD-Rom n the HDD are both the same...Ensure the selected is appropriately assigned according which connector you are using on both components... Lets say you 'cucuk' the end of the IDE Cable into the HDD and the middle connector into the CD-Rom, then the HDD jumper should be at Master and the CD-Rom jumper must be at Slave....

If u have done that and after booting still cant detect, install only one component each boot on either connectors, for example; u cucuk the HDD with both end and middle connector of the cable see if got something. If still undetected, try swapping cables or test the current cable and HDD CD-rom combo on other computer/mobo.

If cannot detect also, reset CMOS, remove battery, and leave for 5-minutes, the put back on and boot...

If cannot also, then ur IDE controller kaput!!!...wakakaka..kasi RMA... whistling.gif

im scratching my head now....

If i format ...scared didnt detect also..
my guess is the board?

anything special setting in the asus board?
im liking this board very much!...everthing in the bios option is clear and I can actually undestand what it mean...not like old mobo tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
Nope...mine's pretty much straight forward....The bios is slightly better than biostar although there is no built in memtest....I notice it because I swapped from a Biostar to Asus directly as soon as I sold the previous board...But no where near DFI or the Deluxe or ROG series....

my 3.8ghz crashes after 7 hrs of prime ~~ would it effect my everyday use??
*
Technically speaking yes....

When intensive data buffer is concern, when u see a program crash/unstable/unable to work properly, then that is the result...

If you just google, play games for short duration such as 8-hours non stop, watch movie, then you have no reason to be afraid....-ish laugh.gif

blink.gif blink.gif Running CPU temp high oso can cause jealousy??? shocking.gif

It means the cpu can work at that temp eh?? hmm.gif
Wasn't the max temp on AMD site said to be 65c??
That I don't know, but what I do know, even though the temp reading was at 78c, the PC did not shut down...

I think the max temp is the threshold of danger to destruction...Its like the RPM gauge in the car...even with the redline as far as 7000rpm (on most cars around 5.8k - 7k rpm excluding VTEC, VVTI bla bla bla) you hardly see anyone drivng above 3k....its funny because most of my Euro fwens they drive at 4.5k rpm before changing gears...in malaysia there is a certain unwritten rule (or taboo) about changing gears above 3k .... laugh.gif

max vdimm i dare to go is  1.9 since even pump more it stuck at "cold boot" thing...

i wish i can get higher score with higher NB freq
*
No point also going higher as it create instability if you are not in the region of >5Ghz.....even at 4ghz the NB Freq will sustain stable at <2400mhz oni sweat.gif
