I know this is an old topic, but I want to put an end to this.

Whey are obtained by coagulating dairy product. So it is HALAL.

To do this, an enzyme called Rennet are used.

Rennet, however, are obtained in animals stomach. It is HALAL.

BUT, what if the animal was not properly Slaughtered according to Islam? It is still, HALAL.

Here's why, Rennet does not have blood passing through it, it is not alive. So, regardless of how the animal is slaughtered. It is still HALAL.

Simply put, you can consume Rennet as long as it doesn't derive from pig.

Thats why I prefer to study the ingredients than relying on halal certs smile.gif

Thread revived! biggrin.gif

BTW, I 100% agree with you. Optimum Nutrition doesn't have halal cert but it is in fact, HALAL.

So, anyone want to ask other brand? We can discuss it here and let people decide
