and the main problem is their mind always wanted to 'get rich quick' so they get tempted by all sort of so called 'investments' without doing due-diligence..
reality, if everyone can get rich so quick then there shud be no more poor ppl around. yes, im well aware of the risk and that is wat im willing to take/loss.. i never ever dream 'tommorrow' i will get richer. but instead i would focus on how to get richer Knowledge.. always, the golden rule in forex or everything else, KNOW wat/how before getting ur hair wet. or else u would suffer before even GAining. ppl intend to pull the trigger without proper knowledge and when they are out they BRAG.. life goes on.. =) |

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Jan 6 2010, 02:15 PM) Unfortunately human heart/emotions will override the human brain in most circumstances. That is why I decide when to buy sell but my EAs/scripts decide when to close the order according to my strategy. This way I take the emotions out of the equation. Human brain, robot heart. Best of both worlds. its good when u know how/when to use it.. but ppl always take for granted as there's a lot of marketing gimmick selling robots prove to make 10/100/1000 ridiculuos folds of ur deposits.. in the end the so called Great Robot eat ur account alive.. its better to stick/draw down own trading plan and obey it.. dont ever Overtrade just to cover the losses before.. |

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Jan 6 2010, 03:12 PM) The thing is that EAs get their bad reps from programs like that and make people think that EAs are only good for automatic trading. I use so many scripts and EAs to open and close orders that I no longer do any manual settings. To open a buy, I just click one button and it automatically: yeah, that script is indeed useful (point 4 and 5).. coz my eyes starting to sore everytime set BEs looking at charts.. 1) Buy at current ask price 2) Sets the TP and SL according to my strategy 3) Sets the pips size according to my account size and strategy 4) Automatically moves the SL up and down to trail according to my strategy 5) Automatically closes half my orders upon TP and move SL to breakeven +1 and let the rest ride out. All these with one click of a button. How many clicks would a human have to do to perform the same function as above, not mention the amount of time required to sit infront of the console to manually adjust the SL. Of course, the decision to buy sell still depends on me, just that the closing of the order depends on my strategy without any emotions involved. This is an example of how EAs can work for us. Not all EAs are bad. This post has been edited by evoangel: Jan 6 2010, 04:12 PM |

im more on technical trading but dun let ur guard down on fundamental as well.. i hate news sometimes, but its essential too when trading.. of course i cant predict whether its green or red news, but at least u could protect ur trades and u know wat the hell going on..
golden rule is, never hold an open trade before news coming out, if so, put a tight SL to minimise ur losses when it goes against u. well, to trade daily, u must have ur goal set every day. make sure its achiveable and stop ur TRADES when u hit ur goal. |

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Jan 10 2010, 08:57 AM) You don't need to guess, just need to straddle. Place a buystop and sellstop on top and below 1 min before news release. That's what I do for news. So it doesn't matter which ways the news goes, as long as it moves, money is made. lol.. u and me have similar trading strategy i say.. trailing profits,BE, buy stop and sell stop.. this is wat i do everytime.. just dat i still manually setting tp and be's.. still havent found a reliable script yet... |

agreed wif tachlio.. 5-10% every month.. still better than any avalaible FDs in the market..
consistency is important.. no matter how much u gain that month, but could u do it in the next coming months? babypips is a VERY easy learning webby.. seriously, if anyone had hard time wif it, it kind of difficult to start forex.. make sure u do understand all the important points and make a personal note.. Added on January 12, 2010, 9:54 ambtw, anyone got a pm from this newbie? lezl i think he would spam every traders here just to ask us manage account for him.. some broker required to certified their docs.. my broker alpari uk need that type as well..
jam lennon- go to any pesuruhjaya sumpah and they can get it done. or contact ur banker.. last time i did it in rhb bank, but be aware they will bombard u wif lots of questions... i just tell them its 'offshore investment'.. no matter how many times they ask.. till the branch manager come out and see me.. haha.. they are scared. for pesuruhjaya/lawyers.. careful as well.. as some will 'overly' charge u for that damn chop.. i tried a few places before some charges rm10 some rm20 per doc.. yet, i choose my bank to certified it.. and its free! =p |
