kenshiro, are you going to Singapore Std Char marathon? We are going to Changi Expo hall 5 to pick up our bibs. The info given by ccube, 2Xu is setting a boot there for registration. I am not sure on Sundown. So, will just look around at Hall 5 for it.

aha..Ccube...thanks biggrin.gif you know, i wished that i hit at least 38kms for my long runs but the thing is i dont have any partners to run with here in Penang to run long distance sadly sad.gif , its hard to get motivated to even wake up in the morning and run on weekends..i normally do my long runs alone at 5 am  shakehead.gif but i wouldnt say that ive not trained... just that ive havent been hitting the km's one should hit weekly when training for a marathon

i took a totally diffrent approach compared to the first mara, where the first one was so regimented, weekly must hit 70KM.. long runs are minimum 30KM and come race day i ended up suffering from the 18km onwards, for this race, my training was very flexible,  long runs were barely hitting 22Km and i started only serious training 3 1/2 half months prior for this mara and my weekly mileage was averaging between 40 to 50km only...i normally only do speed and interval runs

i felt so bummed out for the Penang Bridge Half Mara where i stopped and walked at the 18km mark, was honestly fearing the worst for this marathon.. i guess the fear of failure kept me going, wouldnt have stopped at the 37km mark if it wasnt for the cramps as my mind wanted to go on but my body was just begging for to stop and rest just for minute

but there's a saying you reap what you sow..and for the effort that  ive put in i got more than anyone can ask for... and as for running its going to take a break till the end of this year, Christmas coming up family and friends to prioritise now... laugh.gif

Well, no point crying over spilled milk. Maybe it's better not to have any online registration at all since they cannot except any type of online payment. But their method of payment has been there for ages & it worked for all other runners, why shud they change their method just becoz of one complaint ? It's not like I'm KSN or somebody. & it's still 2009, not 2020 yet. Postal order, money order, cheque & walk-in is still the safest way to pay for something.

I rest my case.

I just bought the Ultimate Direction Blaze fuel belt from Frank last Saturday. I'ma run my 1st half marathon in Putrajaya Night Marathon in February. The main reason I felt the need to carry my own water is that, thru experience during training, I found that it's really hard to consume energy gels without water. So by bringing my own water (with some space to carry gels as well), I won't face any problem finding water to chase down the gels during racing la. Last year I ran 10K, so there was no need to carry water.

It takes some time getting used to wearing it, but then, once I get it fitted tightly, it doesn't bounce at all, even with both bottles full & some gels in the zippered pocket. Of course, all this are precautionary measures, but at some races, the water stations can be out of supply at times.

Hi guys,

I have foot toe / nail problem here, after several 7 km / 10 km run, one or two of my foot nail became black and sometime painful. I dunno wat is the reason.

I do wear a cushioning shoe for every run.

Need your advice on how to cure / prevent this situation.

tq

Nowadays it tends to rain pretty late in the afternoon in Cyberjaya/Putrajaya, around 5 pm like that. But then again, although Cyberjaya & Putrajaya basically in the same zone, sometimes if it rains in Putrajaya, it's sunshiny day in Cyberjaya...  tongue.gif
They do. & they also have other compression stuff brands as well, can't remember the name. They also had Wrightsock on sale. Forgot the price. As for the arm sleeve, I suggest U check out those used by motorbikers. There's one brand, Alpinestars, it's made of Lycra, around RM25. I thought about getting one myself.

Added on March 26, 2010, 1:23 amOoo... forgot to add... I just got myself a clear lens for my Livestrong M Frame... so Saturday can use la ...  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

It's Livestrong la....

I've had the M Frame for quite sometime edi, bought it from sunnies down in Bulk Orders. I think he still got stock. Around RM400+ I think (try getting it at this price outside). The clear lens I bought from Revelstoke, Oakley's authorized distributor in Megan Phileo Promenade, for RM255. I could've got it for less from sunnies, but unfortunately it took too long.

Revelstoke can order custom prescription lenses, but the cost is astronomical. For M Frame it's RM1000+.  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  I guess I'll stick to contact lenses for now.  thumbup.gif
