QUOTE(d3vilzzzz @ Aug 18 2009, 09:16 AM) upon registering for the Mizuno run, one gets a 25% voucher, is that voucher applicable for the products already on a 50% discount? I've got 2 Mizunos, Crusader 2 (trainer) & Wave Aero 5 (racer). I've been very happy with both. I'm planning to get Adizero Ace, going for 30% at Studio R. Boston was also at 30% off I think. Normal price both the same, RM399. But Ace is slightly lighter than Boston, at 7.4 oz.any fond mizuno shoe users here? the oni adidas pair i hv is adizero boston, the lighweight trainers though.. use it for races and hill or speed work.. bought it when i received a discount voucher upon registering for the Adidas KOTR event.. RM50 i think.. |

QUOTE(jack208 @ Aug 18 2009, 06:02 PM) I have the Ace and luv the shoes. It's not a trainer though as it's thin on the cushioning but if you wear it for race day, it's great as it's light. I wanna use the Ace as my race shoe la. I saw it in Studio R 1Utama (New Wing).btw I saw RSH Pavilion only 20%. Where did u see 30%? IF yes, I may want to get another pair. |

Finally I hit the road, 2 days short of two months after my motorbike accident, Op-Day+29. It felt good. I did about 30 mins of very light & slow jog, with occasional accelarations, just to see how I feel. I went out about 6.30, about an hour after sahur. My left biceps & triceps have shrunk considerably since my accident so I felt sore on tht part. I also wore a brace to protect my wrist & the broken arm. I still haven't gained full range of motion on my left wrist, I just got the k-wire out on Thursday. I'll start my physio session on 10/9.
Well, it felt good to be back on the road again. |

No point being a hero. Besides, it's puasa month, probably it's a hint for you to rest longer. Thx 4 the advice. Of course I'll be careful not to exceed my limits. I dun wanna get back to tht hospital again. Even when doing physio for my arm I've been very careful not to push too much, I dun wanna cause further damage to my arm & wrist. |

As for vitamins, I used to take Pharmaton or Ginsana, back in my cycling days. Now tht I've to buy it myself, I take Proviton instead. I drink HL chocolate daily, now I'm taking Anlene as well, for my healing bone. As I've been lifting weights as well, I use ON 100% Whey.
Right after races or long runs, I drink Gatorade, my fave is Grapefruit. Works for me. |

QUOTE(phoenix @ Sep 2 2009, 11:20 PM) * Guys, notice ccube paid attention in mentioning Calcium, Iron, Magnesium and Vitamin D. These are essential in developing strong bones as these 4 nutrients work hand in hand. Add Glucosamine in, and it helps with joint maintenance too. There's one product from Abbot's I believe, tht contains all tht in one product. R U using tht one ccube ? Coz I was thinking of getting those as well to help fix my bone. But I'm scared with Anlene + calcium pills, the bone will grow extra long, maybe I can grow Wolverine's claw !! Added on September 3, 2009, 12:54 pmFolks, hv U read this article in Men's Health about the Tarahumara runners ? They're ultra marathon runners who run barefoot. There was an article about how expensive running shoes is actually ruining our feet in RunnersWorld.com, it was based on this tribe. QUOTE(JimBeam101 @ Sep 5 2009, 08:02 AM) A running shoe. Mizuno. U know what model Ur Mizuno is ? Mizuno, like most other good running shoes, makes specific models for specific feet type.Nope not a regular. I land on the middle of the foot but sometimes i do land on the back or heels as it is hard to control. |

QUOTE(JimBeam101 @ Sep 8 2009, 12:21 AM) Mizuno Wave Elixir 3. So any sifus know what's wrong wif my ankle pain? Well, according to Mizuno's website, the Wave Elixir 3/4 is for moderate over-pronators. Have U checked Ur feet type by doing the wet test ? The shoe might not be suitable for U, but then again, AFAIK, neutral runners can still run in moderate shoes. Maybe ccube or phoenix can elaborate more on this.Btw, the new Timberland mountain running shoes is cool. have a catchy quote as well. "If you're not fast enough, you're food." the adverts is funny too. |

QUOTE(MayanPaw @ Sep 15 2009, 11:57 AM) I've actually stated my budget and all that in the previous post if u did notice it. So now i need u guys to recommend the shoes(please be more straight forward to the shoe's model if it's ok) that best suits my usage. Then i will go try on all the models u all recommended to see which fits my feet best. Why not just get both ? Fastwitch for running, T6 for gym ? Still within Ur budget I guess. I'm sure ccube can give more discounts if U buy 2 pairs. 2nd question, i think mine is normal. 3rd, not overweight, 21.8 Thanks in advance. On another note, Nike Free trainers are pretty good too. I have the Nike Free Dynamic TR tht I use primarily for gym sessions & some speedwork & hillsprints. But I wouldn't run more than 5K with it, the inners are just not made for running. |

QUOTE(syazone @ Sep 19 2009, 12:38 AM) i'm looking for new shoes.... is adidas boost good? or any other shoes recommended? price range rm250-300 Adidas Boost is the one with spring-look cushioning system right ? That shud give U all the cushioning U're gonna need, full length somemore. Just that, it's a little on the heavy side. Similar to Nike's full length Max Air 360, all the cushioning, with heavy weight penalty. I think one shoe with good cushioning but reasonably light weight is the Lunarglide.Oopss.. My bad. It's not full length Boost, it's only half-length. Added on September 19, 2009, 10:58 am QUOTE(pllx @ Sep 19 2009, 12:32 AM) Here's a noob question : How long after eating do you run? Like eat at 2 run at 7 or something cause sometimes after a while i'll feel like puking till i can't continue. Or is that unrelated to food as i make sure it's at least 4-5 hours after i last ate. Solid food can sit in Ur stomach for four hours. That's the study done on Tour de France riders. That's why they switch to liquid for their feeding. I had this problem too. I solve it by eating banana & 2 slices of bread at least 90 mins prior to my 10K races. Works for me so far. For training runs, where I dun have enuff time gap to eat, I just drink some milk, maybe a slice of cheese. Then off I go. This post has been edited by tenno: Sep 19 2009, 11:00 AM |

Anybody here using the online training tool Active Trainer ? I registered yesterday & found out that it's a very useful tool to log Ur training, including types of training, mileage, etc. It also provide tools like Ur shoe mileage, BMI, body fat calculator. It can track Ur progress in terms of body fat, total mileage.... I can go on & on. Best of all... it's free !!! Of course, there's a chargeable version which is more powerful. U can purchase online training programmes which will be included in Ur training calendar & U can track Ur progress la. Check it out.

Whoa... so far down edi this topic.. what happened ? Nobody running ah ?
My comeback race preparation has been hampered by a slight injury in the area just above the ankles. I dunno what it's called, my closest guess is tibialis posterior. It's not bruising or whatever, just painful. Part of it I guess it's due to the fact that I got heavier by 2 kg after Raya. But I'm running on treadmill now, I dun seem to feel the pain when running on treadmill. Last Saturday I had to walk home after it got so painful I can't continue my run. So I took Sunday off, & I've been treating the area with ice ever since. Hmm... |
