OMG, u serious? worse than SF2? u sir need to understand alil more about SF4 b4 u start posting half-ass reviews n comments. Go watch a SF2 video & SF4 video on youtube.com or sumthing, and u will see the differences.
It's so sad that u can post sumthing about a game which u haven't fully explore, any1 who has played Street Fighter will know that SF4 & SF2 are different; similar is to a certain extent only.
This is where u fail miserably; there is a standard power gauge, in addition to the Rage bar which charges up when u deal, receive damage or by performing a "special move". The Super bar allows u to perform a extended version of ur characters every special moves it also allows u to do a FADC which makes the game very flexible where it is quite similar to KoF 2002. Lastly as it's name suggest, its a super bar when fully charge u can perform a "super move". In other words, the super bar (or a "standard power bar" as what u like u put it) has basically 3 functions. Ex-special moves, FADC (Focuss Attack Dash Cancel) & "super moves".
The Rage bar only charges up when u receive damage or by absorbing hits from Focus attack. This is actually good cause it allows players that are at low health a chance to comeback at the game.
I'm so sorry that u waste ur money on the game(NOT!). You probably deserve it, cause u juz blindly pay for sumthing which u were juz curious y it has great ratings on PC.
If u expect SF4 to be the same as MvC, wouldnt that be dumb? y would Capcom make different fighter games play the same?
p.s.: MvC2, SF3: 3rd strike, SF2, KoF, SF4, Tekken, soul calibur are great fighter games.
Mortal Kombat is not to my liking.
Added on July 19, 2009, 2:57 amsure his overrated, atleast his way better than any1 of us.
so u wanted me to name every single ppl thats turning up for the tournament? I juz name Daigo cause his probably the most recognisable player in the SF community.
Alex Valle, Ed Ma, Combofiend, Gootecks, Justin Wong, Marn and many more will be in the tournament.
Mago, Daigo's closest rival in SF4 will not attend the tournament cause he has no passport.
happy?
sorry... its just my opinion on the game...
1. Of course there's difference... i never said its COMPLETELY similar.... if you've played all the old SF series... u would know what im talking about... unless your just giving your comment based on playing SF4..... besides the shadow counter attack .... EVERY SINGLE MOVES and POWER are the same... and yes... ITS WORST than SF2 cause if you use ryu, you had to use 1 power bar to cast a fireball ... wussup with that...
2. About the power gauge... i doubt u even played anyother SF series before.... the older version is based on level power gauge... each level enables a super attack... for SF4 ... super attack could be achieve only by MAX power gauge or RAGE .... unless you assume fireball as a super attack then i got nothing to say....personaly, i still prefer the standard power gauge...
And YEAH.. i dont need you to explain how the rage bar works .... besides... the rage bar is not a good COMEBACK AT ALL!!! if your a true fighting game player... you would know that the RAGE only allows you to use the special SUPER attack... Whereas in the OLDER version ... the power gauge is also similar to the RAGE feature... when you take hits.. the powergauge charge up just like rage... but instead.. it gives you a variety of attack to choose from to counter your enemy... instead of example "Ryu" only able to use shinku hadoken...
3. Ive been a fan of Street Fighter... and i expect more from this release... the trailer seems promising but the actual gameplay is realy a letdown...
4. And yeah... earlier i would expect SF4 to have a combo system and the use of the stages enviroment to actualy show the use of modern game engine and graphics...which also means some new and special experiance to the latest SF release...
It realy surprise me to see the recommended system requirements to be at least a x1900 or 8600 graphic card...
