Hi. Nice to meet you all. I'll intro a bit about myself first, I am a reptile keeper but recently decided keep more than just that..
So I was choosing between either tarantulas or scorpions, =P, but in the end I ended up with a scorpion.

So I did my research and purchased a Urodacus Manicatus ( Black Rock Scorpion ), and I have had it for about 3 days.
Now he's got his own burrow and everything which is so cool tongue.gif

The only thing I noticed is that he hasnt eaten yet since he came, any tips on how to get his appetite going?
He/She ( dunno yet ), is about 2.5 cm long and is staying in a plastic container with about 6 cm of coco peat substrate.
Also, I did a false bottom setup.

About when do you think I should start feeding him and how often?
Thanks in advance. smile.gif

I live in Australia currently and that's why I'm able to purchase that specific species. =P
If everything goes well with this one, might get a Urodacus Yaschenkoi.

But still taking care of this one for a bit first, btw, for a water bowl.. is it really necessary?

Okay. =P Will do..
Just out of curiosity, if I put the bottle cap onto the ground instead of embedding it into the ground,
will it still be able to climb and drink?

well it can climb but i think it should be embedded and place some small rocks in so it wont drown it self. its a semi desert species so it dont need much humidity. But i've read in a website, its a burrower so provide it some larger rocks so it can burrow under it for its hide. may i know what substrate ur using? and i hope ur scorp live well to adulthood.

Okay .. Thank you biggrin.gif

Mind to ship some scorpions in? brows.gif
I don't think it's allowed is it?
I had to give up my Californian Kingsnake in Malaysia when I initially went over. cry.gif

If you have details about license needed to ship and stuff like that I dont mind helping =P

As long as it's legal lol. Then sure man.
Pets here are relatively expensive, the craziest being fish...
One normal goldfish costs around 12 dollars =.=

I bought my U.Manicatus at 25 dollars.
U. Yaschenkoi and U. Elongatus more expensive.

I forgot to add at 25 dollars included one packet of mealworms..
But the price of feeders here are very expensive even though they come pre-gutloaded and stuff..

I have noticed that if my substrate is 100% coco fibre.. it doesnt work very well for burrowing..
What is a substrate that is good for my scorpion to be able to burrow successfully?

Thanks..
