Hi. Nice to meet you all. I'll intro a bit about myself first, I am a reptile keeper but recently decided keep more than just that..
So I was choosing between either tarantulas or scorpions, =P, but in the end I ended up with a scorpion.

So I did my research and purchased a Urodacus Manicatus ( Black Rock Scorpion ), and I have had it for about 3 days.
Now he's got his own burrow and everything which is so cool tongue.gif

The only thing I noticed is that he hasnt eaten yet since he came, any tips on how to get his appetite going?
He/She ( dunno yet ), is about 2.5 cm long and is staying in a plastic container with about 6 cm of coco peat substrate.
Also, I did a false bottom setup.

About when do you think I should start feeding him and how often?
Thanks in advance. smile.gif

U r welcome,Farhadd.
@unfazedgamer- where the hell did you get the scorp... lucky you... about feeding its not really rocket science. u can feed it anytime as long as they want to eat. some of us like to feed our scorps regularly (untill they're the size of a tennis ball e.g Lester.. lol) and some feed their scorp every 2 weeks or so.. so its not wrong to not feed ur scorp as long as it eats.. for me i feed them once a week (coz got tons of crix) i never let them be too skinny..
@HyourinMaru - er.. its obvious the vaseline wil b full of subs coz its sticky what.. what i do is scrape the mites away then apply vaseline to the parts where i cant get them. After leaving for some time wipe it clean... carefull of its booklungs.. when u scrape them off make sure they are in the vaseline and stick to it..

I tot after apply vaselin then straight away put it into its tank is not ok tongue.gif
I apply more vaselin cos the mites is at the smaller area and later going to apply to its bottom part.
ANW...how to clean its anus part?I'm afraid dat vaselin may block the anus.
And the hardest part is the tergate which my scorp always move and those mites stay hidden.

I live in Australia currently and that's why I'm able to purchase that specific species. =P
If everything goes well with this one, might get a Urodacus Yaschenkoi.

But still taking care of this one for a bit first, btw, for a water bowl.. is it really necessary?

you can place the vaseline and place the scorp on the container but with nothing on it, if u are going to still do some surgery on it.. for the anus use a satay skewer but must be very gentle. for me i think paper is the best for the nut and cranies...

you are one lucky guy over there.. we dont have much species then Spinifers and Longimanus..
i think it is neccesary.. it does not need high humidity but it might want to drink alil.. just give it a bottle cap for storing water.. put it on the side..

Okay. =P Will do..
Just out of curiosity, if I put the bottle cap onto the ground instead of embedding it into the ground,
will it still be able to climb and drink?

well it can climb but i think it should be embedded and place some small rocks in so it wont drown it self. its a semi desert species so it dont need much humidity. But i've read in a website, its a burrower so provide it some larger rocks so it can burrow under it for its hide. may i know what substrate ur using? and i hope ur scorp live well to adulthood.
