Guys,
Had a chat with Maxis Centre personnel. They die die said that I am not to get a prepaid line with data unlimited and hope to use it with the iPhone 3GS. They insist that carrier settings are such that it will not work if I am using existing data unlimited line. Which to me does not make sense. Any truth to this claim?

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jul 16 2009, 12:14 AM) @Kelly_Gabui, I think there's been a misunderstand. Perhaps the CS thought U be using the prepaid number as ur principal line. If that is the case, Maxis does not offer the RM99 Unlimited Plan to Prepaid Users, only Postpaid. Assuming after U get the iPhone, U can still use ur current Maxis SIM (postpaid with unlimited plan) on ur phone. U just waste the 500MB free data offered by Maxis on your prepaid plan. Btw if ur intending to do that, perhaps U can help a friend out - he's got a prepaid SIM and wouldn't mind the 500MB data usage when he's back from AU during the Summer holidays Ah, that makes so much more sense now I now know exactly what I need to do, thank you! And yeah, I would have 500MB of free data to play with. Who wants it? Will trade it for something of significantly less value

Just paid my deposit over at Machines, guess I can count myself as one of the late ones. The store owner was telling me that bookings are through the roof, there are already hundreds upon hundreds of ppl expecting to pick it up on the 31st morning. Asked him how he is going to deal with crowd control (first come first serve, sequential registration ordering, etc), but they have no clue how to do it yet. Am worried about possibility of getting my unit on time, as I don't want to deal with a long queue when I get there. They don't even have enough units in store to cater for the volume of 31st pick-ups. Consider this a public service announcement Be there early, expect long lines on the 31st.
