@jon_jai,
Yes U can sign onto a Monthly Pass plan without any contract and that can be added on to your corporate voice plan. Also, we have another dedicated thread for Ping! but anyhow I've Ping! you - just don't know if it's too "early" in your part of the world This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Oct 6 2009, 11:32 AM |

@tnsai,
The 333 free minutes are applicable for both Maxis and other network operators. This is so because u basically have paid for the usage in your plan. |

@scofield,
Your plan will also start when you collect your iPhone. It will then be activated on the spot and you'll be able to use it within the next 2-24 hours depending on what plan you're signing up on. |

@icechiller555,
Depending on how often U intend to tether, 1GB may be just suffice or insuffice. I don't tether too much on my iPhone but it comes in handy when i'm out and about. I'm currently subscribed to the 500MB data plan and find it more than suffice for my usage. PS: I haven't Tethered much since I haven't travelled outstation recently. |

@jon_jai,
You can't add-on iData plans to your existing plans. If you want to add on existing data plans, you have to go for the new plans which were introduced by Maxis recently: RM58 for 500MB p/month RM78 for 1.5GB p/month RM88 for 3GB p/month |

@earl-ku,
But that wasn't his question. I believe jon_jai oredi has an iPhone and has no intentions of getting another one. He just wants to know if he can subscribe to a data package to be used with his existing iPhone; hence those are the only plans available. @hlsp7a, Your RM100 you pay monthly includes:- # 333 minutes of free local calls # 500mb of data usage # 100 SMS # 10 MMS Anything exceeding the above, you'll be charged @ RM0.15 p/minute for voice calls and RM0.10 p/SMS. @Carmein,
If you have the cash U might as well sign it up with Maxis; that way you get a rebate off the phone price. This UOB promotion doesn't give you any savings on the iPhone 3GS - in my opinion, not so worth it lah unless U don't have the cash and need to go with 0% interest rate on purchase of the i3GS. Also, U will need to do an airtime top up of a minimum of RM100 p/month for the next 12 months. Ask urself if you're going to be using it. If you're going to be purchasing an outright purchase set (via prepaid Hotlink!) u won't need to worry about the RM100 p/month for the next 12 months + you also get 500MB of free data p/month for the next 12 months + U pay the same price for the iPhone 3GS so in my opinion that is a better plan; of course that is provided U have the cash to front for the price of the i3GS. @Icehart & xelx,
Yes.. MNP customers aren't allowed to sign on more than 12 months contract; the only other option is to change ur number and register for a brand new Maxis line. |

@groggysquirrel,
It's not the same because if you sign up for iValue 1 for a period of 24 months, your i3GS 32GB costs only RM1990 as opposed to paying RM2990 with this UOB promotion. Also, if U don't make much calls, Y go with topping up RM100 p/month? And yes, 500MB should be suffice provided you don't use it to download stuff. @blstz, Port-in customers are only allowed to sign on the 12 month contract. Am not sure if it'll work assuming you swap your number to Maxis and then sign on the iPhone - it might or it might not depending on what the legal implications are; Y don't u check it out and let us know The Free Minutes/SMS/MMS are free to any local numbers within MY; not just limited to the Maxis network. |

@xelx,
If it's still considered a port-in number then i guess u just can't. It doesn't matter how long u've previously used Maxis. AFAIK my dad's been on Maxis ever since it came into the market and yet we still don't get preferential rates. |

The other option is for you to get the i3GS on a prepaid basis. |

@Icehart,
MNP customers can't sign up 24 months plan; just 12 months. That is stipulated by law as per the T&C. @crazyivan, It's been put on hold due to the 'worldwide shortage'. |

@blstz,
Hmm.. perhaps U can check and see if anyone received the RM500 rebate post card from Maxis; that way you don't need to sign on a 24 month plan. Personally, I think the 24 month plan is a bit too long; considering I'm expecting Apple to announce a new iPhone by mid 2010. |

@btr999,
The difference then would be the call rates + the price of the actual i3GS. Like I said, the i3GS on the UOB plan is priced at full price. |

Yes that is right only if the 0% interest installment applies for the iData plans. |

@groggysquirrel,
Yes roaming charges applies to data services as well and it can sometimes be costlier than voice calls. My suggestion is for you to perhaps give up this set [or sell it to a friend of urs who's interested in getting one!] or go with the cheapest available plan; maybe if you can, sign it on with iData 1 plan (that way you can cancel it anytime and u won't need to worry about being stuck on a contract) |

Check from Usage cause I don't believe 123 will give you the information. |

@fx2800,
Moving from iValue 1 to iData 2 huh?! Even if they allow you to move, you'll have to probably pay somewhat of charges. Plus there's a bigger chance of moving plans if you're upgrading ur plan but in your case, Maxis will probably see it as a downgrade of plan since your monthly commitment to them is now reduced. iData 2 is not a call plan. You need it with another plan be it any of the ValuePlus plans or the Standard plan. Y do U wanna change btw? |
