QUOTE(teikwing @ Jul 15 2009, 11:27 PM) @DikkieD: local telco regulations does not allow any of our local carriers to lock any phones to their network. hence, Maxis iPhones are officially unlocked. in the past, 3G users have been able to use their iPhones obtained through Maxis on other networks. @tink: this post? haha. i had tough time editing/adding the first few posts too! the oakley pouch is awesome! utilizing it 24/7 and absolutely love it! clean my 3G off those greasy fingerprints every time. gotta thank nokia for recommending it and you for posting it. (if not deliverered, please return to Tinkerbel @ XXX-XXXXXXX) you got one yourself too right? @teikwing As i said earlier post, that RM 179 will make people confused. hahahahah

@baretta, Well.. we're all clear now, right?! @teikwing, You're most welcome. Yes I'm using the Oakley pouch too - and I was pretty much sure it wouldn't be 'undelivered' cause I used Courier - just afraid it be delivered to wrong person onli mah

Added on July 15, 2009, 11:59 pmRate Plan Terms & Conditions 1 This offer to applicable to all Hotlink prepaid plans. 2 For new customers, purchase of iPhone 3G must be accompanied with any Hotlink prepaid pack.

@hi54ever, Yes that is absolutely right and the prepaid pack is just RM8.80 so your total investment is merely: RM2490 + RM8.80 = reasonable IMHO

Guys,
Had a chat with Maxis Centre personnel. They die die said that I am not to get a prepaid line with data unlimited and hope to use it with the iPhone 3GS. They insist that carrier settings are such that it will not work if I am using existing data unlimited line. Which to me does not make sense. Any truth to this claim?

I think its not making sense at all. By the way, can I change my Value 50 postpaid to prepaid to get the iphone? I'm actually heavy data user. I wanna get unlimited plan with prepaid. Not much voice call.

@Kelly_Gabui, I think there's been a misunderstand. Perhaps the CS thought U be using the prepaid number as ur principal line. If that is the case, Maxis does not offer the RM99 Unlimited Plan to Prepaid Users, only Postpaid. Assuming after U get the iPhone, U can still use ur current Maxis SIM (postpaid with unlimited plan) on ur phone. U just waste the 500MB free data offered by Maxis on your prepaid plan. Btw if ur intending to do that, perhaps U can help a friend out - he's got a prepaid SIM and wouldn't mind the 500MB data usage when he's back from AU during the Summer holidays

@Mr Kong, It is not possible for us to tell U how much bandwidth LYN takes up! @gogo2, In that case, my suggestion is for U to buy a prepaid @ RM8.80 which will enable you to purchase the iPhone. When U get it, just use ur existing postpaid SIM with the iPhone and open the RM99 unlimited plan

@Mr Kong, If U don't use YouTube and download emails and go to heavy sites then I guess 500MB should last U for a month. I've a friend who's based in Australia who only has a 300MB plan and it's more than sufficient for her; don't ask me what her usage is like.

Heyya guys, need info here:
1. I use the Maxis Value Plan 150. 2. My account is bolted on with Maxis USB Broadband. 3. When i tried to book the i 3GS, it said i wasn't eligible for the iData plan.
Q: Is the fact that my account is bolted the reason i cant subscribe to the iData plan?
