what is the recommended lcd tv for less than rm5k. im looking for 42 inch lcd tv to use as monitor.

currently im eyeing sony and sharp and maybe panasonic.

Given your budget, you are spoilt for choice in the 40-42" department

panasonic s10 plasma series, forget about lcd , lol or go for pioneer kuro

He said used as a monitor wo....plasma good as a monitor??? If for movies purpose, definitely go for Panasonic plasma tv

around 6k... for 42 inch

trust me, you will be satisfied with PQ

if used as monitor, then kuro is not suitable unless you want your desktop to be a stretched XGA resolution (cos XGA is 4:3 and this TV is 16:9).. which is too low for PC settings especially on a monitor that large....

where to find 42 inch kuro? i thought it was phased out already?

I remembered the 42 inch Kuro used to be RM9,999...then come down to RM8,888...is it lower now?

might be another stupid question, does there significant difference in quality compared to Pana s10 and Pioneer Kuro?
