Hi everyone, I had a friend with iValue Sim card but he sold his iPhone and used the sim card in a Nokia e66. Now he is stuck at can't receive & send MMS. I and him had been running around in Pyramid Maxis center to Nokia and back to Maxis for the whole half day with no apparent result. This is what happened and it is so weird that I decided to ask for some opinion here, hope someone could just give me a hand.
1. My friend had an iValue account, with a supp line. He has been using the supp line and everything is fine. 2. He sold his iPhone, cancel the supp line, and use the principal line Sim card in his e66, end up with no Internet access and MMS receiving/sending at all. His Nokia e66 is AP Singapore HP but with all the Maxis MMS, WAP, Internet access point setup (just a merely Maxis sim card swap). 3. Went to Maxis center at Pyramid, they said can't do anything because the phone just refuse to accept any setting sent through Maxis SMS. Asked us to go Nokia 4. Went Nokia, pay RM50, technician said flash with Malaysia firmware, spent 3 hours loofing around 5. Back to Maxis, CS reset the phone, still can't establish 3G connection (data packet connection), check account, did something, asked us to retry in another 2 hours. 6. Tried after 2 hours, when sending an MMS, a 3G connection can be made out (the network icon indicate there is an outgoing connection), but no data seemed to be able to transfer at all. Same thing apply to internet access. 7. Now here is the weird part start, delete all the Access point in the phone, create a new access point profile in the e66 with all the empty parameter (APN,username, password, everything), INTERNET WORKS!!! At this point, I think all the setting had been set/hard-coded in the sim card. Now the question is, does Maxis had 2 set of APN which 1 is for non-iValue Sim card and 1 for iValue Sim card? Can anyone help as my friend just too busy to spend another few hours going to Maxis again and he is not a tech guy. Any sifu here can shed some light??
