all this commotion bout having insufficient stock is a lil too much ...

i decided to get one this weeks tuesday and spoke to a friend who works there, and he managed to get hold a unit for me, i can choose 16gb or 32gb and any color, apparently these are stocks for their vip or special customers(who knows suddenly comes in one day and wants an iphone) - so they keep bunch of these ...

so i got mine on wednesday ...

i think there are tons more they are holding back ...

no deposit paid or anything, went there spoke to him, took a number and paid and left ...

if u get it from maxis, they will ask u if u wanna do it there or bring it home, according to them just put in maxis simcard and connect to itunes with the phone dock to it la ...

i wanted to use it immediately so they did it ....and its sealed - open in front of me ...

yeah they do have a batch of stock for their priority customer ...

i spoke to a friend, and he did a favor and released a set from there, less than 24 hours and i have mine edy ...

for big shot tan sri dato yb yang besar ...

if they come or their wive, girlfriend, daughter, son wants one ... u think they wanna join the 1 month waiting list?

dont think so ...

Could the ‘special’ unit be none other then a refurbished/secondhand unit? Hope you guys can share your thoughts.

it is a norm for Apple to ship out refurbish unit as new, this is a norm ... replacing all wear and tear parts will deem the unit as new ...

true but thats how it works if one company is monopolizing the sale of the unit ...

i got mine in less than 24hours by getting a friend to get a unit off the VIP batch ...

it was 24 hours as he was not working on that day i wanted itself, if he did it would be no more than a few hours wait ...

i would say its actually ok if the unit is unboxed with the plastic seal in front of him ... but yeah if u pay a brand new price u expect the unit to be BRAND new rite ... but the activation from the itune will not do that i believe ...

but i am a noob with iphone dont trust me ...

monopolizing is the keyword here - and we are lucky to have unlocked sets but we have to pay for that la ... u see what AT&T is doing ... thats worst ...

see now the keyword here is locked sets or unlocked sets ... but then again we have more issues like the one here la ... 1months wait minimum to get it ...
