I bought the iPhone 3G and got my free data 1 hour after register. I wonder why 3Gs doesn't receive it as fast as well?

its not the phone brother, its the sim account, 1 forummer did mentioned before maxis got issue with their hotlink iphone registration, where some of the users not properly registered to get the 500MB monthly, consider urself lucky because u dont have such issue, not because ure getting 3G instead of 3GS cool2.gif

An SMS, not a phone call? It is either the new stock has arrived or earlier booked people has not claimed their's after 14days, anyway ill call Machines MV to request for an update.

EDIT

Just spoke to Chia from Machines MV, he said 12 32GB Black are scheduled to be sent to his shop. I am 1 of the 12. Crossing fingers will get it earliest next week. I hope this is a good news for wayne78. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Why is Maxis handling this iPhone 3GS so damn slow. From the post here, I see people who booked from July still haven't received theirs. I am planning to get one soon for someone, but I don't want to book and I hate the concept of putting money before we see the product. I prefer cash and carry with the hotlink option.

2 words, Worldwide Shortage

I think the booking system is way better than the system where they do not let anyone pre-book, then u need to be the first 400 person in the shop of the day to get the phone, less hassle, but of course, civil unrest growing among people who impatient tongue.gif

well to those, who still insist on maxis being an inefficient/slowpoke corporation in geting their hands on the iPhone, think again.

china, being a massive market and revenue heaven, is only getting theirs much later.

after reading that news, i have a feeling that 1 of the reason maxis has been promoting their broadband is to get to be the only sole distributor to sell iphones in Malaysia.

in case u still dont know, the personnel that have been talking to u through 123 number are not from Maxis, they are from different company that has been paid by Maxis to handle all the shits Maxis produced, same like Vads to Streamyx n Celcom, client company(Maxis) gives limited information to them to inform the angry customers, the reason y they were so clueless when u asked anything 'advanced' or 'fresh'. The communications among them are not so good either. So dont expect you can get reliable information from the call centre.

p/s: I've only managed to stay in Vads for 3weeks while im still under training (not answering calls yet), the HR treated us like slaves or 2nd grade people.

I wish too, but in fact Machines only accept Maybank, HSBC & Public Bank CC.
That's why i have to go for Machines, and choose 32GBS (which i thought will be slightly faster than 16GBS ... T_T)
Cheers

my situation was the same as u, using cimb cc so need to buy from machines to do installment, actually the experience wasnt so bad coz machines know how to handle their customers, u can call the shop directly without going through 'proxy' call center, they kept me updated of any development of the delay n informed me politely/patiently, booked at machines mid valley on 28th July n got my phone on 13th August, 32gb black

During activation (when the machines staff contacted Maxis to add idata2 to my existing VP50 plan), the maxis girl wrongly added idata3 to my plan. And the machines staff scolded her (politely ^.^) because of her screwing up. He even helped me to follow up with them the next working day in order to change back the wrongly added plan to the correct 1. Saving me from doing the dirty job later (possibility of numerous trip to maxis center in future).

Extras of buying from machines:

-Free machines membership.
-RM20 rebate for next purchase.

I donno how to do dat, so at that moment i thought to be safe i just opt for the normal 12 months installment, i was charged extra 5% of the total amount paid.

Normal price + 5% then divide by 12 = amount i need to pay to my cc account monthly.

@jssl

I have heard about the 10months 0% before. The procedures are different. If i'm not mistaken, U need to swipe full amount at the shop first then contact the bank to make it as installment. Then they will review ur request. I think its a bit risky since it is subject to approval. Just my 2 cents. ^.^
