Any news updates on Machines 1U? I desperately need my phone before 16th of August. I cannot wait until 18th.

I just called Machines 1U. Personally I'm not very happy and extremely disappointed, it's not about the lack of stock issue, but rather the customer service Machines have given to their consumers. Called one of the staff, he assured me he'll call back on bla bla date. At the end, it had to be me to call them after that bla bla date. Apparently, when the other staff answered my call, he knew nothing or what the hell is going on. This has happened several times. If this were UK, the store would have to declare bankruptcy.

I told them I'll be leaving on the 16th of August and will be back on the 27th of August. Since they claimed stocks will arrive on 18th of August, I asked them to have my unit reserved first thing the stock arrives in their store, so that when I come back, I can get it the next day without any hesitation, in and out fast. The guy on the phone assured me the phone will be reserved, though I'm not convinced with today's Malaysian customer service standard. I hope I could get a legal paperwork signed by both parties to be assured that my iPhone will be reserved first thing the phone arrives and whether or not I'm below in the waiting list.

I'm facing the exact situation like you with the staff from Machines 1U, except I'm still using my phone. Few days ago, I called them and one of the staff had asked me to come collect at the very early morning. He was rather suspicious and skeptical when he said it, probably he had faced enough complaints from customers and do not want to get one from me. Now, having said that, I am in serious doubt whether my unit will be reserved once it arrives when a dubious pedophile is working inside Machines 1U. He could give it away. The other staff members had told me countless times to wait for their calls, but I've waited long enough. Because I'm leaving on the 16th of August and will be back in the country on 27th, I cannot bear to wait that long. I told my predicament to one of the member of staff, he told me he'll call Maxis and took down my details and he'll call me what the updates are. I waited for their call for a few days. At the end, it had to be me to initiate the call. This may not be a bid deal since it's just a game of who calls who, but consumers would start questioning the staffs' efficiency and trust.

Since 16th to 27th is pretty long, I was hoping for a legal paperwork signed by both parties to assure that my units will be reserved until I come back like I once did in the UK. I don't trust the staff in Machines 1U. I may need to consult my parent's lawyer for advice.

Because I'll be flying on the latest A380, I wanted to experience taking photos inside the plane with my i3GS. Without it makes me so bloody mad.

Let me clarify things up, based on what I've heard and come across.

New stocks arrive on the 18th. And only reserved those who booked between 15th and 28th of July. So those who booked later than 28th would most likely wait a week or so until Maxis satiates the early prebooked customers. I booked on the 23rd together with a deposit. If I don't find my iPhone available on top of the table on the 28th of August (since I'm coming back to Malaysia on the 27th) by Machines 1U, I will personally slit those pigs' throats.

I paid my deposit on the 23rd of July and still, i have not got any iPhones yet. This is ridiculous. Or perhaps they tried calling me but my phone got drowned underwater. Hey, it's either I get my myself wet or seeing my 2 friends fall into the gushing waterfall.

I still blame them for not sending me an email if my iPhone is ready for collection.

I finally got mine. The probably got the stock today. I saw the counter staff took my booking form from a pile of sheets, presumably other people's booking forms. AND THE PILE IS THICK. I guess a lot of people are going to get their iPhones.

P.S. Voice Control is overrated. Whenever I tried asking it to play I Gotta Feeling by BEP, it keeps calling my friend.
