yup, i booked with deposit RM200 already and maxis staff says will called me around 2-3weeks time. i asked them before booking that whether can buy the phone without plan, and they say yes. So i booked a 16GB with RRP RM2480.
@Iroci,
hi, u also booked without plan ? what problem u facing ?

i bought mine walk-in + prepaid leh...
actually it's up to the shop itself to sell by prepaid or contract only.
maybe maxis center themself do not sell but shops have the option to do either.

I just got off the phone with Maxis hotline... I called to check whether my booking was received and confirmed on their side. Apparently those who didn't purchase it via the website do not need a confirmation. Also he said that stock has been coming in pretty smooth these past few days and mentioned I might get mine earlier than expected. Well... lets take that as it is and not get too excited  |

maxis hotline said before 15 august consider 2nd batch..i ordered mine during 14th of august..just wonder i can just walk in into maxis and get my prebooking iphone or not..?

Book my iPhone 3GS from Queensbay mall and they call me that my phone is here. They make a mistake as I book for 16gb but KL send them 32Gb version. Anyway, I'm going to take the 32Gb tomorrow as I don't want to wait for Maxis KL to send 16Gb due to worldwide shortage.

when the stock arrive on September,but its still depend on the stock
coz they have to prioritize the customer who apply the contract-binded plan such as ivalue and idata.
noobquestion:
shud i inspect the device on the spot while im getting my i3gs at maxi centre or juz take it back and inspect it at home,cuz its embarrassing to open-box in front of maxis staff?
if bought from maxis is 100% sure safe,so dont need to inspect la rite?

When i bought mine, the maxis staff opened the box in front of me and connect to a USB to their computer to "unlock" something. The staff also showed me the items included in the box and a quick tutorial on iphone usage. |

Besides, if you spot any defects, u can straight ask for a replacement. |
