@acid_head That's wat maxis claimed but they din guarantee that every1 who prebooked will get it. So lets just hope from the 18th onwards is when maxis get their stock right to deliver to those who prebooked. I myself who booked on 31st of July is still waiting.
@JakzT Suggest u check with those Maxis centres or MEP or APR, survey and see which of them has the shortest prebook list. U'll probably get a higher chance to get ur 3gs sooner. Just my 2cents. Cheers

Well, the 18th of August is still a myth. Nobody can confirm bout maxis having their restock this week. Hopefully those who r suppose to get it next will be getting it by this week.
Whether the myth of 18th of August is busted or not, we can't determine now as stocks might still under distributing process. We'll see wat's gonna happen at the end of the week. Though i doubt that Maxis would have enough stock for us who prebooked, for now.

@samngcheesan That's the way u do ur business, its ur problem. The fact is maxis is gonna release their hotlink plan sooner or later. Whether it's on september or not, nobody knows. But whenever the stock is stable, i'm sure they'll be selling it without require u to book. It's not like Maxis will forever doing this booking stuff in order for u to purchase an i3gs. BTW, he's just sharing the information with us and what's the problem with that? I'm just agreeing with his last statement. thats all =) Cheers

No use calling maxis CS. THey will tell u the same thing over and over again. I'm tired of explaining my situation already. "Sir, u need to wait for 1 month after u paid ur deposit for the booking due to worldwide shortage" x 2. Thats the answer i get from them. No point complaining too much. Just wait for ur turn.

@vixxiee Nope, havent got mine yet. It's not like the place where i book doesn't have stock at all. They do have stocks and they get new stocks every 4days - a week but it's like few sets a time though. The problem is none of those stocks is what i booked. They either get black ones for 16GB or 32GB. Still waiting for my 16GB white. Asked them y like that? They told me they can't control wat maxis gives them. So the problem is maxis not distributing stocks equally. THUMBS UP for maxis. Excellent quality of CS, still telling the same story and giving such HELPFUL advice. So i shall just wait.

@scofield RM2490 full payment needed for 16gb and RM2990 for 32gb. Pay RM200 deposit and then the balance will need to be paid upon collection.
Added on September 1, 2009, 1:46 pm@jlstriker It is dangerous paying RM500 blindly as deposit. Maxis only mentioned RM200 as deposit. Better check properly, since the shop u mentioned wasn't in the list of "WHERE TO BUY" from maxis site.

@scheizer Bro, i suggest u wait for an exchange. This happened to my fren's unit too but they did not ask him to leave his unit until he gets a replacement. I don think they need u to leave the phone with them. Just tell them that u have no other phones to use.

@Secret Choong I have a friend who had experience as a promoter hired by Maxis during the Iphone 3G launching event. Based on his experience, the road-shows are help by both maxis and machines together and they do hire promoters to promote the Iphone. Some promoters are from maxis and some are from machines. Lets say there are 10 counters at the roadshow, 5 belong to maxis 5 belong to machines. My friend who was a maxis promoter will be leading their customers to the 1st 5 counters, which is maxis' and machine's promoters will be leading their customers to counter 5 onwards. So i guess its the same this time, those who went to the machine's counters get the machine's receipt and those who went to the maxis counters get their official receipt.

I sent Maxis an email explaining to them my situation and complained about their so called "fair distribution". They called my up on Saturday and asked me for the details, ie. Where did i book mine, when was it and so on. The next statement he was giving me was "currently, the stocks of this iphone 3gs is suffering shortage, and it fact it is a worldwide issue which affects US and Australia". I was like =.=" Australia? I can check their stock availability every night and they do have sufficient stock. I told him that Australia does not have such issue. And then he admitted that Maxis is indeed having shortage and the units available is very limited. He checked with the MEP where i booked and told me that he'll give me an answer by Tuesday, which is today. He said he might allocate me to collect it somewhere else that has stock for me. I'm still waiting for the call =.="

@DrOzzz I understand ur feeling bro. I'm slightly worse than u. Officially booked mine on the 9th of August but till now i still haven received any news from maxis. Made complain and a guy name adrian from maxis called me. Supposely, he should be giving me an answer whether i can get my phone else where rather than collecting from the MEP i book. No news... I am too very frustrated but wat to do? I've done watever i should be doing edi.

i don think refund is a good idea. Might as well continue waiting for the phone. C'mon, u pay them Rm200 a month ago and u're getting RM200 back after 1 month. Wats the point? If i were to loan to someone i also can that RM200 back plus interest. =.=" Wasted my time...

They'll surely gonna offer the prepaid package again but not so soon in the future as maxis is still suffering from their so called "worldwide shortage". So there are many ppl who tries to take advantage over this. Get their prepaid plan and sell it off at higher price. Well, thats the way they do business. Like wat our famous forumer here did, samngcheesan.

I doubt that most ppl would get their phones b4 raya. Their stock is not as consistant already. So most probably it'll take more than a month. Like me, i can't even get my 16gb. Like i've been booking since early august.
