QUOTE(Secret Choong @ Sep 22 2009, 10:12 PM) Hi Iphone lovers,I am glad to share that I got my Iphone 3GS 16G Black from Maxis Sunway Pyramid. Booked on Aug 19, collected today - 3 days later easily....in about 12.30pm - just hand over the booking receipt, waited 15 minutes, paid the balance, had the phone activated and smilingly walked out within 45 minutes. Fast and great! Hope that the rest of you get your units soon! |

QUOTE(sashid @ Sep 22 2009, 07:58 PM) I have some doubts regarding the maxis iphone …. can anybody help me ?1. My girlfriend is studying in aus , is it possible that i buy the iphone from maxis with the ivalue plan 4 and send the phone to my gf (as a gift 2.”Maxis reserves the right to rescind some of the privileges of the rate plans should the registered line not be used with the purchased iPhone.” what does it mean…… 3.Will i be able to use the free data of 2gb by using an 3g adapter connecting it to my computer ? Thanks in advance.. |

QUOTE(sashid @ Sep 22 2009, 07:58 PM) I have some doubts regarding the maxis iphone …. 1. Yes that is possible. The plan is not 'phone dependent'. 1. 2. True also. Ultimately the plan is meant for and to be used with the iPhone. The entire contract term states the user, the service and the iPhone. No other phones. So legally, Maxis has the right to terminate you for breaching the contract and have you pay the penalty for early termination. Thats the legal perspective. The other side of this requirement is to protect Maxis and Apple's interest. One of the main star features on the iPhone is the Apps Store. With the iPhone and iValue plans, you can not only browse the internet but also make purchases on the Apps Stores. The developers, iPhone and Maxis takes a cut in the money you pay to acquire these applications. Maxis generate revenue from the constant usage of the data and its service. If you break this combination and use the plan with the other phone, you will not be surfing or buying apps as intended. On the other hand, your GF may be using the iPhone with another service provider allowing that service provider to profit and generate revenue on a device originally meant to be exclusively used under Maxis. See the legal and technical bounds here? The good news is no one cares as long as you pay your bills on time and not tell anyone about it. Just keep a ssshh... 3. Technically you can. The 3G modem is similar as a mobile phone in that it is a GSM transceiver. Again, the legal limitations prevent you from doing that. In real world, just keep a sssh... if it works. |

Until they manage to cater all current contract users and the demand begins to slow down, I don't think they will make the Prepaid plan available, at least not for now.

Yes, I will agree on that. Currently demand is more than supply from contract customers, so Maxis prioritize contract customers first. |

Yeah and we have to face it, Prepaid profits aren't really good compared to Postpaid profits where people make steady monthly payments into Maxis's piggy bank. And we all know that most people who're interested into buying the iPhone outright comes from other service providers anyway. So we can't really fault with Maxis. Also, the reason why iPhone 3G was available on prepaid back then was due to the low adoption rate. I guess we heard about that before. |

so you are saying that there is a possibility that iphone prepaid might not even be available anytime soon or maybe permanently?

The picture they provided was a maxis shop, so i assume that it will be a maxis set, maybe you can go check it out. This post has been edited by Secret Choong: Sep 23 2009, 08:29 AM |

just got my iphone today
since it is still hari raya holiday...not many ppl @ maxis center klcc so collection is hassle free booked on 8/21 received on 9/22 model iphone 3gs 16gb black i guess this fact is known to everybody by now, but just a reminder when you call maxis hotline (123) to ask for your booking status, they will DEFINITELY give you out of the book answer... - the maxis center will let you know once available - there's delay and shortage of stocks - they are trying to accommodate people booked earlier and you got to wait some more in fact, i called them 3 times in a day just to listen to different reasons...most interestingly, one of the rep told me that they are still shortage on stocks and there will be another 2 weeks delay...this is when you can say straight to their face - BS! put pressure on them...ask them about the stocks in the center...have they call and verify with the center? if not, ask them the contact number of the center so that you can check yourself. hope you guys wont have to wait so long as well... |
