I just went to Maxis KLCC to try my luck with a machines receipt, I told him I received a call to come collect my iPhone 3GS. So he took my receipt, and the moment he saw the word "Machines" printed on the receipt, he said I can only collect from Machines. So I went 3 floors up, and ask when can I get my iPhone, the guy said NEXT MONTH!!!!!!

But I don't care, I'm gonna pressure Machines next week till I get my phone, cause if what Matured said is true, me and DrOzzz should be getting ours, we booked at the road show too.

LOL but if i continue wait... then can wait till February where wwdc 2010( i heard rumors) and there is sure to be a new Iphone next year(which is a rumor in USA that AT&T contract over and will be going to verizon. And during that time they will have a new Iphone :/ SOOOOO....... still dont know know i should book my iphone when they release the hotlink plan which i predict will only release on NOVEMBER!!!! Why i say november? If u go and book now u need 1 month... SO i say November

Chicken and egg thing....if book now, will probably get end Oct/ Nov. Iphone 3GS would already be in the market for 4 months plus....and the new model is due very soon already and hopefully different design. 3G and 3GS looks the same....I can bear a bit more slowness cos I dont think i will use it to surf a lot nor play a lot of complicated games.

will you reconsider if i tell you 3g model are more prone to defective wifi/bluetooth ? 3gs uses a different chip for that.

no new model for iphone until end of 2010. thats confirmed. forgot where i read it but its true. the sale for 3gs is damn good n high so they will only launched new iphone end 2010 or by 2011

i'm not sure where you read it since i always catch-up with the apple rumours but i havent came across tat. apple hasnt stopped the habit of releasing the new iphone every summer since they released 2g. it can b really a sure thing u can expect a new iphone in june/july every year.

hmm that true that it release at june/july because of wwdc but 2010. WWBC will be held at February. Unless they going to release it same time with next next update of ipods. The next ipod refresh is this coming september. so maybe next February or september not june/july

mine they said after raya.. its like.. 10 days pass 30 day of waiting promised by them.

they may be upgrade the phone for multitasking....their competitor are already in multitasking support. and a few hardware changes....and the rumours is next years....just pray the phone will be out in december next year...huhuhu....

I don't think there's a restriction with iPhone 3GS. Its more like we're reaching a holiday season and also the holy month, so processing might be a little slow.

Yes, which is why I am anticipating a new remake of the iPhone OS with multitasking. I am very confident a new iPhone will be released next year during WDC together with a new OS. And iPhone 3GS owners will get it for free, and hopefully iPhone 3G too. But seeing iPhone 3G has so little free RAM after bootup, thats gonna be a little risky. Which is why I am aiming for 3GS. I have the 3G already, and believe me its slow due to the low RAM.

Actually they dont have to remake the OS, after jailbreaking you'd realize that its already multitasking only that it is masked from the user. The reason for this is thEy'd want the user to have the best experience working woth iPhone without lags and crashes associated with having too much processes working at the same time.

I think organized by Maxis and Machines, but I feel that they should tell us that when we went to pre-booked. I assumed all the counters were Maxis, so I didn't bother asking who am I booking with. But when I ask where to collect and the guy said Machines, I assumed that we'd be getting it with those who so luckily got a Maxis receipt. I went to a Maxis counter, but got a Machines receipt, in a way I feel kinda cheated. They should have put up a Machines counter also, so that we'd know clearly who we're booking with before we proceed to the counter. But we can't do anything now I guess, we can just complain and wait.

I have a friend who had experience as a promoter hired by Maxis during the Iphone 3G launching event. Based on his experience, the road-shows are help by both maxis and machines together and they do hire promoters to promote the Iphone. Some promoters are from maxis and some are from machines.
Lets say there are 10 counters at the roadshow, 5 belong to maxis 5 belong to machines. My friend who was a maxis promoter will be leading their customers to the 1st 5 counters, which is maxis' and machine's promoters will be leading their customers to counter 5 onwards.
So i guess its the same this time, those who went to the machine's counters get the machine's receipt and those who went to the maxis counters get their official receipt.

yeah, I guess so. But the thing is, I didn't go through any promoter, when I went to the roadshow, I went straight to the booth that says "Maxis", even the person who accepted my credit card and printed my receipt was wearing a Maxis shirt.

Hehehe.. a bit of a long windy story, and the plot lines and more 'terror' than pirates of the caribean... so don't get up hopes up too high...

1st, to reconfirm, I have not received any sms, email, call, anything from Maxis. Just decided to walk in to Maxis Center KLCC & try my luck.
I booked on the 14th of August night during the KLCC road show. Receipt from Maxis.

Today went there, buta buta ask, admited that I didn't receive any sms/email.. just trying my luck.. the lady checked, and as she was checking, i noticed the name list includes people who have booked until the 17th of August... so, theoretically, anyone who booked on the 17th & before should be able to collect already (but there's some bad news on this lah)...

my name wasn't in the list... so the lady ask me which type i booked (16G 3gs Black),went to the office, and 5 minutes later, came back, and told me that I can collect, even though my name is not in the list, but fortunately they've got extra unit can spare for me..

I had some personal complications during the registration (which most of you will not encounter unless your personal line is actually registered under corporate plan). Then my experience went through a roller coaster...

1. Waited for 15 mintues for my turn, although I'm the only one waiting for iphone collect (i.e. my turn is no. 501, now is number 500... )then went there, give IC, answer a few questions... bla bla bla... nothing special..
then counter guy (W), goes into office , supposedly to get my phone...

2. W comes out and asks me whether I received any sms/email from maxis to collect, which i told him, Nope. Then he explains to me that the stock they have here are all tagged to a name in the list... batch by batch. Meaning, some people from prebook date 14th would have received the email/sms, and some wouldn't ... and only those who received the email/sms can collect. There's no surplus stock to give out... My smile turned sour.. but I didn't taruh them or anything lah...

3. They call the iphone promoter lady to ask her why she said got unit for me (i.e. bad customer experience), but she explained that she already placed a booking for me when there was an additional unit, so then they checked back the system, and so ngam, really got such ting wor.. hahahaha...
So, then they apologize to me for the confusion, and got me my phone... yeah....


So, from here, my conclusion is that... batch 4 just came out, and in that batch, there are selected customers who have prebooked until the 17th, but does not necesarily mean that everyone has been sent an email/sms from maxis yet.

That said, originally, they may have had 1 @ 2 additional units here and there in case of Walk In's... but it could be my luck that I got my hands on the last unit... So, I probably wouldn't advise you to go yet... next week friday or weekend, yes.. this weekend.. hmmm.. maybe not.. but of course, up to you lah..

Thats my report for now... Time to go play with my new baby...

Added on September 5, 2009, 5:50 pmOH, and to add on, I heard from the sales people, that they are still sticking to their commitment of within 1 month from the date of pre booking, but I doubt anyone will get 2 weeks already from now on.. most likely have to wait at least 3 weeks....
