kids nowadays lack imagination! laugh.gif
i suppose it is a lot easier to look at pixels of your character seduced by a succubus than having to exercise some brain cells!

i'm no longer game for this unfortunately, my pen and paper days have long passed me by, and our gang's long stopped too after uni so good luck to the rest of ya.

madmoz,

Thing is the one thing that youngsters forget these days is that the P&P version doesn't have lag nor PC requirement issues haha. That and the fact that there's nothing quite like watching your friend cough up water through his nose trying to laughat the misfortune of his fellow player (happening live too!)

Don't worry madmoz, some of us like myself are still keeping the hobby strong for those of us moving on into our 30s and 40s.

Why not play on the Neverwinter Nights platform

Some years back I actually attempted that exercise Polaris. Much to my regret, the results were rather dismal. Somehow it is rather difficult to get everyone to crowd around their monitors when they'd rather meet up for the real thing. That and it's not exactly cool to cuss at a monitor or spill your drinks on the keyboard haha.

But seriously though, somehow the engine didn't take too well to the heavy scripting I was doing to it. Needless to say NWN2 would be a better option, but it's still far too much work than I can handle these days with work and all. Good thought though. Thanks!

Its a great game for those who like it but not so for those not up for it. That's all there is to it.
Whatever it is, I would like to have people come and try it out. I was the DM for my D&D group back in Mlk and we had a lot of fun until now so please do give it a try. I'm willing to teach new people about this game.

And there really is no win and loose in this game as we are playing as a team to have fun adventuring. I am a lenient DM so you will find my games challenging but I am not overly strict as to kill your character off 5mins after the game starts.

@map
Would love to have you join. Not sure if you are a real girl or not but you won't be alone as I have another female player joining us. Leave me your contact number in a PM if you are interested.

@Baronic
Am thinking of Running a BattleTech campaign in the future but I haven't gotten used to the system yet so I don't wanna start a group yet.

ravager877,

Nice to hear that the hobby's spread to Malacca and is coming back to town. Keep the fire going strong mate. Pay no bother to those who prefer to spend their time posting inane comments when they can spend a few more brain cells coming up with something more productive.

If you need any help training up the newbies or explaining the rules to them, feel free to look me up or pm me.

Thanks for the offer thyceult. A bit hard finding people now after all the rubbish comments from the short stint in the Kopitiam.
<facepalm>

Most welcome ravager877,

My pleasure to help a fellow gamer happy.gif. Just hang in there mate and I'm sure you'll be able to find a few good men/women. The hobby itself is not entirely sustainable in Malaysia, that's the problem. I believe us seniors did not take the time to educate the younger ones because of the generation gap in terms of offline and online gaming. Nobody really took the trouble to bridge that gap before it is well... at least I hope it is not too late.

Dear Lancer,

Very happy to know that your experience with gaming is a very positive one. It's just like one's experience with their first ever bottle of Guinness Malta. You'll either get addicted to it or throw up and hate it for life. Bad example I know, but hey... I think it gets the point across haha.

If you'd ever need any support in picking up more of the rules or any advice or pointers, feel free to ask. Would be more than happy to help. If you can't get me in here, try asking in pm.

*geekspeak* Welcome to the family!

Oooh, are you in MMU? I'm also looking for a group.

Wow,

Now there's a third person in Cyberjaya looking to play / is playing? Tsk tsk tsk... I see a pattern here. Sorry mate, my group is full currently, but yes, I run it in Cyberjaya. happy.gif

Hit me up if you ever need another player. I have some experience playing casually with friends for about 2 years.

Cheers laksa88,

Thanks for the offer. Not sure if it will happen anytime soon as everyone is getting bogged down with family obligations to even hold a game proper these days. Oh well..

Dear laksa88,

You're tough out of luck. My group contacted me and arranged for a big bang session on the 20th this month. Hahah... what to do, what to do indeed. Actually, all you need are just 2 more and you're good to go!

You're in Cyberjaya right? (or can access the place, either way)

Well, just to let you know, we'll be playing a session at "Where Else" cafe, adjacent to Old Town Kopitiam if you know where that is, on Sunday 20th this month. I am wondering if you know the other two players personally or they are just people that you've met on LYN?

Big bang, haha... that's just my definition of having a full group (more than usual actually).

Yeah, logistics problems can be a real let-down, but I guess that is just part and parcel of the pride of being a DM and making sure that the entire game runs smoothly?

I don't know the interested parties personally. One contacted me through LYN and the other through MMU forums.
That's why I'm looking for groups to join rather than starting one myself. I've no interest in DMing, way too much work imo : P

Haha... understood. A lot of players seem to be too lazy to want to chair a game on their own eh?

Laksa88,

Eh? I thought all gamers were creative to some extent? Haha... so what's about the two guys you said wanted to team up with you? They're from around here as well?
