your ip4 battery can stand for how long

That's not an easy question to answer, it's just been two days. I unplugged it at 100% full charge this morning, about 20-30 pictures taken today, heavy wifi use, gps, and now it's two in the morning, was at 40% at late night today.

As for me, unplugged at 7.20PM, at about 10.30PM the battery went into the red. About 15 hours plus. Location services turned on most of the time, wifi, 3G turned on. Shot several videos, pictures. I never close my apps, all left running in background. What do you think?

1. 3G turned on but cellular data turned off, the 3G setting is good as turned off right?

For your extreme usage as you wrote, 15 hours for me to think is quite standard.

Anyway, when you turn on 3G, you are using 3G radio signal, which is totally different than normal GSM. Celular Data is only to control the internet. So conclusion, when 3G is on, you are using more power than GSM although is just for call and SMS, which appox half of the time in GSM radio signal

Interesting feedback, thanks. So more power used but just for calls and sms? You mean the phone uses more watt/dbm for cellular transmission? I always thought that 3G switch is just the switch for enabling 3G standard for mobile broadband, therefore if you leave the switch on but leave cellular data off, it will automatically disable the mobile broadband radio.

I'll look around and see what I find. But for real world test, has anyone tried leaving 3G on but cellular data off and see what happens to the battery?
