wifi, 3g, location services constantly on, brightness about 60%. usage about 8hrs, and i got 2 days out of my ip4. woohoo! this is satisfying however, last night i was playing with VNC app, n close it (without quitting). from 100% charge, when i woke up (abt 7 hours sleep) only left 28% haha anyway, a friend of mine had a battery problem before. no matter what she did, she cant get the phone to last more than a day even with wifi n 3g off, without any apps running in the multitasking tray. when she approached genius bar, turns out that some apps (tweeter, foursquare) was still running even when she quit it already. the genius staff said it's the app's problem n have to wait for the developer to update it

^ gaming can eat up the battery fast, even more if it's a 3d game

QUOTE(zsbong @ Oct 16 2010, 07:54 PM) What I am trying to highlight is that even if left idle... it could actually drain 15% when a few days ago it only drained 3% with the same settings.. which is very peculiar try restarting the phone 1st there's an issue where some apps are still running in the background even if u already quit it. particularly those apps that isnt updated for ios 4 yet

QUOTE(userONIX @ Oct 17 2010, 12:55 PM) I left my phone fully charged at 5 am and i did restart my phone because at 6 am, battery decrease to 96% in idle. Now at 1 pm, battery already 73%. why suddenly become like this? i bought my iphone during maxis launch. my setting everyday when im at home: cellular data ON, 3G OFF, Wifi ON, Notifications ON for facebook, whatsapp, game center. email push OFF. brightness around 50%, location services ON. firmware iOS 4.1 assuming u've done all that ahmadcivices01 posted, i guess i'd be worried too. do u use foursquare or twitter? these are the apps that genius bar claimed can't quit when my friend had the same problem QUOTE(boblp @ Oct 17 2010, 01:00 PM) hmm.. ur cellular data is on.. most of the apps will try to cnnect to the net.. maybe thats the problem i leave cellular data on all the time, it doesnt drain battery a lot

QUOTE(Xaphier @ May 15 2011, 11:07 PM) That's why you should get a data plan for iPhone. Smartphone is not a smartphone without internet. +1. really sad to see ppl using smartphone w/o data plan. really missing the point TS, just remember the top things that suck battery are wifi, 3g, location, brightness, 3d games and speakers. off wifi n 3g if u dont use it (cellular data would be fine. i leave it on all the time). use the suitable brightness level, dont need it to be full at the time unless under bright sunlight. and of course, quit running apps. try to update to the latest software. i'm sure u'll see ppl say things like 4.3.3 makes battery life worse etc.. but somehow i see ppl can say such things just 1 day after updating. u dont need to be a statistics pro to see the problem there

QUOTE(MrMeGa89 @ May 18 2011, 07:42 PM) now i`m use IOS 4.1 , how to update be 4.3.3 ? i dunno how to do that n worry all my data like contact will be lost.. n after update 4.3.3 , need do jb back right? Added on May 18, 2011, 8:24 pmcann tell me how to update ios from 4.1 to 4.3.3 ? i afraid lost data like contact u wont lose data. plug in ur phone in itunes, press sync n itunes will create a backup of ur phone including ur contacts etc. it will ask u to download 4.3.3, so just download and install when it's done. after installing, itunes will restore ur data again. it's pretty much flawless. yes u need to JB again about ur contacts, u should have a backup anyway just in case u lost ur phone etc. i have all my contacts stored up in my gmail contacts, synced to my phone. lots of other alternatives around. u should look into it if u value ur contacts list

QUOTE(XaNxAn @ Jul 2 2011, 05:09 AM) Its there any good apps that can help prevent battery drain on my iphone4? My batt die very fast! Especially when using talk box, from 100% can drop to 20% in less than hour no there's no app to prevent battery drain haha take care of ur usage bro. off wifi n 3g if u dun need it. dun let too much apps run in the background, especially GPS apps. dont set ur email to fetch too often. i dont use talkbox but it seem like something that would drain battery a lot since u're constantly downloading and uploading a few kBs

QUOTE(aa*ron @ Aug 5 2011, 12:29 PM) I'm thinking of upgrading my iPhone. Though I'm currently using an sim-free version of iPhone, but I did experienced with an unlocked iPhone before, the battery was draining super fast. May I know how is this battery consumption performance on a unlocked iPhone 4 now? Is it still high, or just normal? sim-free version? u mean u're using the cdma iphone4?
