wifi, 3g, location services constantly on, brightness about 60%. usage about 8hrs, and i got 2 days out of my ip4. woohoo! this is satisfying

however, last night i was playing with VNC app, n close it (without quitting). from 100% charge, when i woke up (abt 7 hours sleep) only left 28% haha

anyway, a friend of mine had a battery problem before. no matter what she did, she cant get the phone to last more than a day even with wifi n 3g off, without any apps running in the multitasking tray. when she approached genius bar, turns out that some apps (tweeter, foursquare) was still running even when she quit it already. the genius staff said it's the app's problem n have to wait for the developer to update it

^ gaming can eat up the battery fast, even more if it's a 3d game

try restarting the phone 1st

there's an issue where some apps are still running in the background even if u already quit it. particularly those apps that isnt updated for ios 4 yet

assuming u've done all that ahmadcivices01 posted, i guess i'd be worried too. do u use foursquare or twitter? these are the apps that genius bar claimed can't quit when my friend had the same problem

i leave cellular data on all the time, it doesnt drain battery a lot

obviously battery life depends on ur usage

quit every app, reboot, off wifi, bluetooth, 3g n location. dun play music/videos n any games (especially 3D ones). just use for short calls, texting n light browsing. how long can it last?

TS, just remember the top things that suck battery are wifi, 3g, location, brightness, 3d games and speakers. off wifi n 3g if u dont use it (cellular data would be fine. i leave it on all the time). use the suitable brightness level, dont need it to be full at the time unless under bright sunlight. and of course, quit running apps.

try to update to the latest software. i'm sure u'll see ppl say things like 4.3.3 makes battery life worse etc.. but somehow i see ppl can say such things just 1 day after updating. u dont need to be a statistics pro to see the problem there

u wont lose data. plug in ur phone in itunes, press sync n itunes will create a backup of ur phone including ur contacts etc. it will ask u to download 4.3.3, so just download and install when it's done. after installing, itunes will restore ur data again. it's pretty much flawless.

about ur contacts, u should have a backup anyway just in case u lost ur phone etc. i have all my contacts stored up in my gmail contacts, synced to my phone. lots of other alternatives around. u should look into it if u value ur contacts list

normal bcuz new iphone user always get very excited with the phone n play with it a lot, that's y battery cannot tahan haha

if without heavy gaming, wifi off, 3g off, no gayut on the phone, ~50% brightnes, 3-4 days should be no problem. u can try 1st

take care of ur usage bro. off wifi n 3g if u dun need it. dun let too much apps run in the background, especially GPS apps. dont set ur email to fetch too often. i dont use talkbox but it seem like something that would drain battery a lot since u're constantly downloading and uploading a few kBs
