My iPhone 4 was at 100% last night at 11pm. It goes to sleep mode after 2 minutes, brightness set at approx. 70% with auto-brightness turned on, left my WIFI on the whole night, turned it off at around 7am the this morning, used 3G for about 2 hours or so for the day, some messaging, no calls, and my battery is at 42% now. How normal is this? It drains pretty fast if you ask me.
Anyway, do you guys leave cellular data (and therefore EDGE) on always? I keep getting the Turn Cellular Data on message if I turn it off.

My usage for today: 3.5 hours of usage, 5.5 stand-by. Down to 15% now. OK I used Google Maps with location services pretty extensively (probably around 1.5 hours while car is moving), about 1 hour for surfing the net, some WhatsApping, some messaging, some video capturing (about 4 minutes only). 3G was turned on for almost 5 hours. Brightness at approx. 80%.
What do you think? Normal?

QUOTE(scyap @ May 17 2011, 01:47 PM) 10% idle in 10hours is NOT normal... mine drop 1 or 2% only... slept for 12hours i think, lol just updated to 4.3.3 jb with redsnow rc16 with multigestures usage mainly on wifi and games only I can never get results that good, and I'm on 4.3.3. My battery is usually dead in 6 hours of usage. I have around 7 apps with push notifications on. 3G is always on never off. When I'm at home wifi is turned on always. I don't play many games, but there is a lot of chatting on meebo and whatsapp, plus a fair bit of photography using hipstamatic, camera+, etc, and also the Facebook app, twitter, and other apps. Is this normal?

QUOTE(scyap @ May 17 2011, 07:46 PM) ^ 3G does suck lots of battery... why don't you try a day without 3G or EDGE ? I'm also on wifi and whatsapp etc... all my social apps have push... Well I might try it for a day but I won't be turning off my 3G anyhow since it's not a smartphone without Internet access right? I forgot to mention I set my screen brightness to about 80%. How bight is your screen?

QUOTE(scyap @ May 19 2011, 01:46 AM) QUOTE(Bibinoob @ May 19 2011, 10:33 AM) 80% Brightness ? Too many bro.. I using IPhone3G until now Iphone4 did't try Brightness more then 60%. You shall turn off the 3G when Phone going idle mode. When you put Phone in pocket, maybe can consider close the 3G and Data lol I guess that's the main reason for my battery drain then. I have always set it at ~80%, with auto-brightness on. For whatever reason my auto-brightness never worked... until right after I posted my battery issues here. And then it started working.
