Mine is at 40%. Fetch, push, all disabled. Running only on 3G (my office line is a 3G only line). Wifi has been on since 7 am to 10 am.

This morning battery started at 92%, now holding at 72%.

Youtube videos viewed:1
Cydia accessed 6 -7 times
Apps downloaded 1
Games played - 1
Calls - 15
SMS - 5

I dunno if this data will help anyone, but here goes.

Morphie air...Hmmmmmm.

I think it may soon be time to adopt such a measure.

3G browsing drains battery faster than playing a game!

Within 2 minutes it drops from 73% to 70%.

Incredible.

Ok, I'm jailbreaking and unlocking, and restoring to a BLANK phone now as suggested by a forumer a few pages ago. The battery drain on my iphone 3G without wifi, screen at 50% is appalling! 5% loss in 1 hour, minimum!

Thanks for the pointers DG.

I've followed all of that except 3G as I need it to make calls for U Mobile. I didn't even install SSH after my jailbreak.

1) Push Notification - OFF
2) Location Services - OFF
3) EDGE - OFF
4) 3G - ON
5) Wifi - OFF
6) Brightness set to half or less and off auto brightness
7) Mail - fetch new data set to off and Push Off
8) Kill all background apps by using Processes via SBSettings or use 4. Force Quit Program - will try this nao
9) Disable SSH if you install earlier for jailbreak iPhones.

Well looks like I have found a balanced approach to my battery problem:

1) Always charge for more than 4 hrs.
2) I turn off all unnecessary items

Voila. standby power is still at 45% after 2 days since last charge. Usage is 2 hrs 45 minutes.

FYI i have some startling discoveries on my iphone 3g OS 3.0.

Battery life goes from 100% to 0 in 12 hours with no wi fi usage some calls and sms on this settings:-

Push - off
3g - off
wi fi - off
location services - off

But this is my third day with no wi fi usage and just sms and calls with this settings

push - on
3g - off
wi fi- on
location services - on

Now i really wonder why. *shrugs*

Have you tried restoring it as a "new" phone?

I tried that, solved my problems. Well not solved, but allows my iPhone to live up to 2 days without charging. But now that I'm playing games on it....
