If you're using DiGi prepaid, you can still use their data plan. Unlimited, RM15 per week. I'm using that, no problem. It's normal if they suck your credit the minute u switch on your cellular data and 3G.

one thing i really notice is that if you charge your phone when your battery % is above 20%, battery tends to drop faster...
if you charge when your battery is below 20%, your phone battery last longer... so usually i drain my battery below 20% every night before i do a full charge. |

QUOTE(levanter @ May 17 2011, 09:43 AM) one thing i really notice is that if you charge your phone when your battery % is above 20%, battery tends to drop faster... My advice try to do charge cycle at least a week.if you charge when your battery is below 20%, your phone battery last longer... so usually i drain my battery below 20% every night before i do a full charge. A charge cycle means using all of the battery’s power and charge it when you Iphone can't turn on. It can keep you Battery stay long and better performance |

My battery is usually dead in 6 hours of usage. I have around 7 apps with push notifications on. 3G is always on never off. When I'm at home wifi is turned on always. I don't play many games, but there is a lot of chatting on meebo and whatsapp, plus a fair bit of photography using hipstamatic, camera+, etc, and also the Facebook app, twitter, and other apps. Is this normal?just updated to 4.3.3 jb with redsnow rc16 with multigestures usage mainly on wifi and games only ![]() |

my battery drop 1% in ten minutes which i use to check whatsapps and smses only for 1-2 minute. |

I'm just want to share my case and my opinion here on how am i fix the problem of battery drain...hopefully this helping other people as well
my phone is 3GS, previously when i fully charged before i went to sleep, in the morning when i wake usually will be around 60%...i keep convincing myself that this is because i JB and installed a lot of apps... but after one day, i found out that my usage time and standby time is always the same, so i try to figure it out...the result is...some processes are keep running even though in locked screen.... i did some research and found out that many apps will causing that problem, but usually due to JB (as JB gave you more opportunities to download more apps). For my case, the culprit is SBsettings. Once i uninstalled SBsettings, my battery life improved A LOT, what i mean a lot is really a lot~ You can see from the image, after 13 hours of standby time + 49 mins of usage drop only 7% Here are some of my settings: MOdel: Iphone 3GS Firmware: 4.2.1 JB: YEs Notifications: ON (but for only facebook and any other social networking apps, the other apps OFF manually) Brightness: 50% (auto-brightness ON) Location: OFF Wifi: ON 24/7 3G: OFF (because not signing up any data plan) I rather sacrifice SBsettings than sacrifice my battery, so for those who are facing battery drain problem...you will need to find out the culprit...otherwise you will need to sacrifice your battery life and your time to charge once everyday~ |

@RynN - I have the opposite case as yours. Currently using iP4 and just started JB not long ago. Before JB, I lost about 10% per 8hrs (I charged my phone every night before I went to bed), usually will left 90% in the morning.
But after JB and tweak the phone with Cydia apps, I only spend 3% battery over the 8 hours. - SBSetting (FREE) - Lockinfo ($7.99) - QuickDo ($7.99 - iScheduler ($7.99) installed. SBSetting helps the most in my case, I can free up the memory, kill unsure background process, turn off WiFi when my screen is locked & etc. Beside that, iScheduler is my secondary power saver too. I can set my phone to automatically turn on / off functions like edge, 3g, wifi or any related process at the specified time. I bought all the apps mentioned, it might sounds a lil pricy but for long term I think it worth. |

I am on 4.3.3 for my 16GB iPhone 4, Jailbroken with tons of Cydia Apps and SBSettings will be the first Cydia apps I installed (Can't have my iPhone without SBSettings)
I have Wifi on ALL the time. I switch on Edge and 3G only when I need it (that's why I have SBSettings so that I can switch them off/on easily) BT is OFF only when I am using Celeste which is rare. Notifications is ON but not for FB etc .... I don't even know what's the use of these stuffs anyway Location services is ON I usually get 2 FULL days of battery and if I don't use it that much to surf the net, I get 2.5 days before the battery dies on me. If I switch on 3G/EDGE, the battery depletes 2% every hour (without doing anything) |

@RynN - Yea. I maximized my phone power saving cause I need it when I'm on site, cause there is no way for me to charge if it dead suddenly.
Btw, you had just against the forum rules. This post has been edited by fylon: May 18 2011, 01:04 PM |

Hi all. Using IP4 here and 4.3.3 OS. Battery life is pretty ok - no major complains.
However, want to ask if there are any recommended Portable Batteries to get. Apple store sells Kensington & Griffin brands and I saw another one called iPower by Momax in a local store. Has anyone use them and if so, which would be the best value for money portable battery to get. |
