Hi guys, hope you can help me out here~ biggrin.gif

1. Brand: Nokia or Sony-Ericsson
2. Budget: RM2-2.5k
3. Specs: Preferably with a good camera and WiFi, while screen resolution, games, video and music are a good bonus
4. Type/Size: Preferably slider (luv them)

Phones I have in mind:

Nokia N86 8MP

I like:
amoled screen
sleek design
wide-angle camera, twin flash & lens protector
the fact that u can play N-Gage games

But:
Kinda having doubts bout the symbian os, I used to own a Nokia 3650 (nice phone btw) and it got pretty laggy

Sony-Ericsson W995

I like:
-polished-metal look
-walkman features
-camera seems similar to the C905
-flash interface (I used to own a w550i)

But:
-the interface does seem to getting a little old now
-no lens protector

Another 2 phones I have in mind if I stretch my budget:

Nokia N97

I like:
-pretty sleek looking
-touch screen
-the swiveling of the screen panel

But:
-Having doubts on whether I'd like the keypad
-not familiar wif the OS
-wonder if it's bulky

Sony Ericsson XPeria X2

I like:
-looks darn good
-touch screen
-amoled display
-has slightly nicer keypad than the N97

But:
-Also having doubts on whether I'd like the keypad
-wonder if it's bulky
-dunno when it's out

Hope you guys can help... I'm not that really in a hurry, maybe sometime next month perhaps? biggrin.gif

The Symbian OS .. isnt kinda lagging when the phone use good processor..
IMO .. N97 is  a lot better than SE Xperia X1.. but not sure with X2..

X2 seems the best among the phone that you've listed

based on your phone that you list above..
you have listed WM phones , Symbian Phones..and standard phones...
if you okay with standard phones.. W995 is the best choice...
its better if you dont know how to handle a smartphone...
Overall X2 is the best...
with 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM.. for sure it is powerful phone..

u have a point... I'm not too familiar wif smart phones (nvr owned one be4). might have to fiddle around with the N97 and/or wait for the X2 to come out and see how it's like... since probably gonna stick wif the phone for a while

the w995 seems to have a good mix, u'd recommend this over the N86 8mp?

for me .. i would rather choose Xperia X2 than N868MP..
but between N86 and W995.. i would choose N86..
it is because the OS..
Without Symbian/WinMo .. W995 has no fun... it is just bored phone...
yeah i know that.. W995 is better in audio , ..but N86 is better for overall performance..

but between N86 and N97.. i would choose N97..
yeah because it has qwerty keypad and touchscreen phone..
i'mnot choose which megapixel is higher..because higher megapixel doesnt mean the camera quality is good..
N97's camera lens seems better,,,

I felt kinda the same when I tried both the N86 and the W995... the symbian os does seem a lil more interesting...
yeah i know megapixels dun necessarily mean better pix, i think i have to try both the N97 and N86's cameras to see how they're like. btw, qwerty on a phone easy to use ar? (i kno silly question blush.gif )

Now that I've narrowed down my choices, it gets harder... I'm down to:

Samsung I8910 HD
- Awesome camera & features
- I like the sensitive touchscreen & colors

Just d only worry is that whether I'll be able to dload symbian apps from the web and not just from the Samsung store...

Nokia N97
- Nice looks
- Feels solid

Just dat the interface is a lil dull...

Iphone
- Looks chic (well it's an Iphone)
- Lotsa apps

Just wondering whether the usage will feel restricted in the long term...

Any views and help guys? biggrin.gif

Obviously the Omnia HD beats all of them flat.Probably the best multimedia phone of the current age...
But bear in mind, the video recording has quite poor framerates as in frame drops and skips

I think it shouldn't be a problem to dl apps from the web since i always do that for my 5800XM smile.gif

Go for the i8910 as a lot of us here can just dream of owning one cool2.gif

hehe I know, usually I wouldn't be aiming around this range, but I'm getting a lil "help" with the sponsoring for my replacement phone blush.gif
