Hi all,

Would like you guys to recommend me a new HP. No nokia please.

Budget: 1.2k Max
Usages: Camera, Music
Softwares/Features: None in particular, but GPS is a welcomed feature. WiFi is not a concern. QWERTY keyboard is not necessary.
Design: Rugged: I'm clumsy. Clamshell/candybar/slide is OK by me.

Note: I'm currently using a modded K810i with modded camera and sounds. So I'm very particular about these two features.

Also, I've been eyeing over LG, particularly LG viewty.

I'm not in a rush btw, should I wait a while since I heard a few exciting models are coming out from SE? Is there any hope that the new models will fall within my budget?

How does the picture quality compares to that of c905? I can't access the images from my office.

Also, since C901 is a camera-centric phone, is it possible to mod the audio files?

i dunno about modding acoustics but C901 loudspeaker less "umph" compared to my C702.
but it's loud despite being thin..

err.. there are reviews by china website (forgot the save the link) that shows C901 picture is somehow better (more details) than C905 eventhough you resize the 5MP C901 to 8MP on computer and compare one to one with C905 fresh pics..

but the phone does not come with USB cable or M2 cards.
AP price around RM760.. buy fast bfore hari raya price increase..

I'm seriously considering the Samsung Ultra Touch. What's the price for it now? How about the accessories e.g protector

But many said that it is slow. I don't care about it not having WiFi. But from reviews, it took good pictures.

What about Samsung Jet? I know the price is over my budget but how does it compare to the Ultra Touch?

The image quality the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD produces is pretty much as good as we have seen on a mobile phone. The color rendering is spot-on, contrast and dynamic range are also great. Fine detail is also very good although if anything could be improved - that's exactly it. In comparison to the Sasmung i8510 INNOV8 one can notice that the INNOV9 delivers more detail in the center of the frame than the Omnia HD. The touchscreen handset however strikes back with better corner sharpness. That difference in the sharpness of the two is probably due to the differences in the lenses used.

The colors of the photos, taken with the INNOV8, are more saturated than those of the Omnia HD. We did mention that when you browse the photos on the Omnia they are automatically boosted to look more appealing but when downloaded to a computer they retain their original "natural" looks and feel. This gives you more options for post processing but if you aren't into that the results might not look as good as the INNOV8 to you. We guess you can increase the saturation and contrast in camera to achieve similar results - the settings are all there for you to tweak.

Certainly the best part about the Omnia HD camera (and the INNOV8 but we have already discussed that) is there are no major flows of any kind. No traces of oversharpening, no lack of contrast and no excessive noise. Plus, getting the exposure right at all times makes sure most of the photos are keepers.
