Thanks for your feedback. Seems not bad for that phone. One question though, the website says it comes only with a trial version of Wayfinder Navigator. So, if I need to use the gps later, I will need to pay?How much?

basically.. all nokia that in navigator series come with gps software and preloaded maps with full navigation license..

other than that.. you need to pay to get full lifetime navigation license

such as garminxt is about RM 300 - RM 400 , other than tht.. idk..

basically.. if the phone has built in gps..
you can navigate for free[no charge]..
unless u use and enable the a-gps[then u will connected to network.. so you will be charged for the connection]

for the software.. actually.. it is free..
garmin,ovi maps is free..
you just need to pay for navigation license...
and I suggest to go for symbian phone... which can support the best gps software @ garmin ..
there are free maps which is updated weekly..

and for the license is.. it is only about 99USD @ RM 300 for a lifetime.. nod.gif

What's the difference if I don't enable the a-gps?Looks like I can consider buying the license if it is a lifetime. I'm not a heavy navigator user so I think just a basic gps hp will do for me. I prefer hp which excel in taking photo with wifi and gps enabled. Any large screen hp that fit my needs?

on phone very simple.

Only integrated GPS takes lucky 2mins to forever to lock satelitte

Integrated GPS + Enabled A-gps = 5 to 30sec to lock to satelitte

but make sure at clear sky not hide under cave and follow above procedure

with your budget.. i think.. SE C905 is just fine for you but wayfinder navigator has no way to use the built in gps alone.. as it will connected to internet..
in this cases.. everytime you use it.. you will connecting the internet.. and you will be charged for it..

on other hand.. i can suggest you to go for smartphone and i suggest you to go for Symbian phone
- Nokia N79 is a smartphone.. and garmin can be installed in this phone.. you just need to pay for lifetime license.. and you can use the garmin for free and you can navigate for free.. unless you enable the a-gps.. this software can use the built in gps alone..so.. no connecting to internet and you can navigate for free..

SE C905
Pros - excellent 8MP camera , simple phone
Cons - not a smartphone[not smart enough LOL] , the gps software can not use only built in gps.. so you need to connect to network@internet to navigate

Nokia N79
Pros - it is a smartphone , so.. many software can be install in this phone.. almost all of the gps software [Nokia Maps,Sygic,Ndrive,TomTom,GarminXT..etc] that available for symbian can use built in gps.. so navigating will be free unless u enable the a-gps
Cons - the camera is 5MP and not as excellent as C905 but it still good

Sorry I need to reconsider: budget below RM1K

Nokia N79 vs HTC Touch2 ?

I am more into browsing(Wifi & 3G), view youtube, read .pdf/.doc, snap pictures, listen to music, GPS a lot...

Can I have more application using Symbian or Mobile Windows?

Or you have other phone to recommend below RM1k?

Hi hi all,

I'm looking to get a new mobile phone for my mum. Her 3310 is already a bit outdated and battery cannot hold charge any longer. Can recommend a suitable phone for her? Prefer Nokia since she know how to use the interface already.

1. Brand: Nokia
2. Budget: Around RM300
3. Specs: Color LCD not necessary. Important Font size is big enough (poor eyesight)
4. Type/Size : Something smaller than 3310. If possible similar size like SE K810i

Please recommend. Tqtq smile.gif

Sorry I posted twice. Was in the wrong section.

I just want to ask about E63, E71 and E72. Well my budget can only reach to this 3 phone so I can't really go for blackberry.

I need to type a lot of messages and a proper organiser and use the web frequently. I'm not really interested on the camera at all and trying avoid phone with touch screen function.

Besides the camera, anything else different? How about the keypad?

So should I just got for the e72 since it's the latest? Or should I just stick to E71 or E63.

Sorry and Thx.

based on those two..
nokia N79 win in terms of camera
HTC touch 2 win in terms of browsing
well i think.. if you want to browse... touchscreen is easier.. but N79 also excellent in browsing..
the different is just using keypad to browse it..
choose N79 or N85[if you want slide phone with bigger screen]
i cannot recommends other since your budget is limited..
and i will not recommend you to go for 5800XM since its camera is not so good..

so.. go for N79 or N85 !
practically.. if you have higher budget.. there are phones that way better !!

E72
- 5mp AF with flash , Symbian V3 FP2 , slightly faster processor than omnia pro b7330 , Accelerometer sensor for auto rotate and tap-for-time Optical trackpad..
omnia pro b7330
- 3.2mp AF with geotagging, no flash, WM 6.5 , slightly slower processor than e72...
go for E72 !!
