Hello! I need help. I want to gain weight (healthily), but I can't. It takes me about 1 year to gain 1KG but 1 month to lose 1KG. I have my girlfriends telling me that's good. However, I don't think so. You see, I now currently weigh only 38KG and I'm about 150-ish CM. SO HOW CAN THAT BE A GOOD THING?! I recently met a friend whom I hadn't seen in a while and she says she thinks I'm getting smaller sweat.gif

So icon_question.gif!

In the meantime, if these are any help at all, I give you some tips on weight loss icon_rolleyes.gif :

Don't starve yourself.
If you starve yourself, your body uses up energy and then gets prepared to eat a load when you do get your hands on food. Starving yourself is sometimes counter productive. Think of it during puasa time. I have Malay friends telling me they gain more weight during puasa than any other time.

Try taking small bites and more chews instead
Enjoy your food! But not by gulping it down, rather by taking small bites to savour and chew. Keyword is CHEW cool2.gif . Keep chewing! 20 times or more. Eventually you'll turn out feeling full before you even finish your meal.

Exercise flex.gif
Jog, run, go up and down the stairs. If you have access to the swimming pool, go for a relaxing swim. By swimming, I don't mean treading water and floating there. I mean really, really swim. Take swimming lessons if you have to. But don't strain yourself. Be sure to eat a little something before swimming, like a banana. So your body doesn't over burn your energy and lands you eating more after the exercise. Dancing is good too, if anyone of you are interested. Go copy some MJ moves icon_idea.gif

Eat fruits and veggies
To, you know... go toilet. Get rid of all those build up inside you. It's healthy too. You get loads of Vits this way.

I heard some food can fasten up your metabolism, but I can't remember which. I think this is about all I could think of for now. If I find more, or have some suggestions from you guys, I can add it up here.

it's pretty easy to slim down. Just keep yourselves busy, stressed and tired till no proper sleep and meals. I can guarantee you slim down 5 kgs in 3 months time.

Eat lots of carbs and take in lots of calories. Drink a lot of Milo if you can. However, you still need to exercise if you want to keep a nice lean muscle to fat ratio.

Eating irregularly also helps you GAIN weight, that will really bring your metabolism down. Like eat lunch at 12 today, 2 tomorrow. Skip breakfast every 2-3 days, etc. Again, regular exercising is the key to any healthy regiment, unless you want to be permanently fat.

Eating late also helps you put on pounds. For instance, if you sleep at 11 p.m. have dinner at 9. You'll see some weight gains in no time.

One last tip. Eat Indian food like 3-4 times a week. No i don't mean the roti canai, I mean like the stuffs they serve on banana leaf rice. I gained 4 kgs in 2 months and I didn't even realize it.

Don't forget to exercise. If you got the time, 3-4 times a week at 30 minutes every session. Or if you got no time, the 10-15 minutes every day. By exercising, it means your heart has to be pumping hard and you have to sweat some.

Sadly, currently we don't have program to gain healthy weight. Hopefully we will get such program in future as it is helpful to underweight folks rclxms.gif
