Hai all,Just now i went to pet shop to buy RC36,but they out of stock. So,i just spend my time read the analysis and ingredient of another brand. lol.
My question is what happen if we feed a hoglet with a very high protein food. (example: "Go Natural" 50% protein and 21%fat. Is it will lead to obesity?

Alright thanks! biggrin.gif

As for the Earthbath shampoo, I don't remember if I've seen it in petstores but I'll look out for them.
Why not just use the real thing- oatmeal? smile.gif
*
But for hoglet,it needs extra protein,so take RC36. smile.gif.
Me also try to find that kind of shampoo, but some of the forumer here use johnson&johson baby milk shampoo... as long as it does not contain tree oil..

what is the difference between rc32 and rc36?
*
Hoglet needs extra protein to grow up and RC36 contain more protein than RC32. After it grow to adult hedgie, (about 10month or 1 year),mix RC36 and RC32 together and slowly increase the proportion of RC32. smile.gif

Agreed that buying the small package is good to maintain the quality of the kibbles. Me also trying to get the small package of RC36,

but many petshop around my area doesnt have stock for that.

I ended up by bought Go! Natural (chicken,Turkey and Duck Formula). sweat.gif . Thanks God my hoglet accept the food and she kinda love it, blush.gif
every time I refill the food, she suddenly will get out from her house and eat it. Also she's not very picky (always finish the leftover). smile.gif

it would be a bit of waste to buy in bulk.I prefer to buy 400g in order to maintain the freshness of the kibbles. 400g can last for about 2-3months & it cost rm20* only.

I wonder how many kibbles did you guys feed to your hedgie.

Today, my boy walk/run for 5 hours ( I dunno how many miles it covers:p)  until I pick him up from the playpen & put him back to his bungalow.
*
Every time I give a kibbles about 10-15 (morning / evening / night).

I always let my hoglet free roaming in my room, sometimes let her at my bed and ended with she sleeping in my blanket. smile.gif

hi can a hedgehog travel in long distance?
because i want to but one from a breeder in kl
but im in ipoh
can it be travel by car?
im afraid it will die cause of long distance travelling
biggrin.gif
*
KL to Ipoh is about 4 hours max right?
Tell the breeder to feed and give the water bfore you take it for traveling.
Bcoz hoglet tend to sleep veryyyy long.
In car u'll need a box to put the hoglet (dont forget to use paper as the bedding).
Put also your old shirt that have u scent.
If you travel in morning @ evening, u might consider to put your hoglet at under the seat (leg area),
or just cover the box with something to avoid direct sunlight.
* the best is travel at night.

Maybe other people have their own opinion. smile.gif

# excited is it.? brows.gif

did the hedgehog bite?
*
Every creature with teeth will bite. sweat.gif

I guess hedgehog does not like people touch their head.

Mine only can touch the head and the belly when bathing her.

But it is really depends on bonding and character of the hedgehog. smile.gif

thanks for your help smile.gif planning to get a hedgie soon. what kind of cat food do u recondmend?

on the first post i have read , it says that 'Only feed your pet with good quality kitten pellets. Some examples are like: Royal Canin, ... . Purina/Whiskas although widely available in supermarkets, they are not suitable for hedgehogs.'

so whiskas is not really good for hedgies?

Post some pic la..maybe i also can use the same set up.. biggrin.gif

I read somewhere that female hedgie should be 5 month-1year to do breeding. If the female still young, the body does not suitable to carry a baby. That why the pregnancy is very

risky to hedgehog.

#Many sifuu here does not encourage to breed# smile.gif

i see , thanks for sharing. but i tot wood shavings are to prevent mites and odor?den i should stick to newspaper + a little shavings then yawn.gif.

what kind of nest materials do u guys use for ur hedgie?
*
Since my hoglet just poop during eating time,so i use newspaper at that particular area only...

Others like the hideout & palying area, i use my shirt only...

#She toilet trained herself. smile.gif..really good girl...

My mealworm farm failed. I forgot to feed them before I went for a holiday. I got back & found them all blackened and dead. x(

*
Use organic oats as the bedding. They can eat it.

That's what I forgot to feed them with. xD
I cleaned out all the poop, mouldy potato, old oats and carrot.

Then I forgot to dump in a tablespoon of new oats.

I'm not feeding Huffy mealworms this week. Maybe I'll buy another ringgit next week.
I'm feeding him cooked pork as treats this week because he seems to love it.
He doesn't like fish though.

Thanks for the tip! Is organic oat better than cheap oats?
My parents eat Quaker Oats so I just steal a spoon once every few days.
*
Any oats also can i guess...as long the mealworms eat it.

Pork is a bit fatty, compare to chicken. IMO

I use two types of bedding i.e newspapers & fleece. Cut the fleece into the size half of the cage/box. Fleece should be placed at the hiding area, while the newspaper will be placed at the toilet area. If you toilet-trained your hedgie to poop in one area, this can save your time in cleaning & also easy to spot-clean
*
Agreed with you...mine just poop at the corner or at eating area...make my work to clean very easy. smile.gif
