QUOTE(Phyurix @ Aug 28 2009, 09:34 PM) Well, gotta roll with it if you happen to stumble on mirror matches in tourneys and such. Imagine when your at the grand-finals and it was a mirror match that you hate. You can't be playing bad just because you hate that match up Still need to win, but neither the audience nor players will enjoy it. Sagat mirror, zangief mirror, balrog mirror, dhalsim mirror all are so lame. Maybe we can vote which one is the worst. |

QUOTE(Darkstalker @ Aug 28 2009, 11:00 PM) Well, the way I see it, mirror matches aren't really about knowing the character. Rather, it becomes a wholly unique matchup. Yah, I agree that mirror match is unique. Becos there's no longer any strength or weakness in the matchup, everything's equal. Take Guile for example, his whole fighting strategy rely on his sonicboom with quite recovery and frame advantage, and myriad way of anti-air normal. In a mirror match suddenly you have no frame advantage after throwing your sonicboom. Inexperience player like me goes braindead It's not so much who knows the character better, but who knows how to fight their own character better that wins (assuming everything goes well in terms of execution and stuff). Nice story Phyurix. I'm the type that likes to switch around characters in games. I'd do that in arcades, but that doesn't sound like me since I wouldn't spend more than like 2 ringgit a go. |

Did anyone actually has nearly all the players (100+) in the first page added in their list? If you can just look at their last appearance and update the list with only those who appear in say the last 7 days then we will have an updated list.
Anyone? ----------- Playing Guile is definitely fun, but I can't figure out how to beat k2k or phyurix with guile This post has been edited by pweic: Aug 31 2009, 09:16 AM |

QUOTE(advocado @ Sep 6 2009, 10:41 PM) I just realised most fighting pads & fighting sticks come with Turbo functions, would like to know do most people here use the Turbo button? I think once you activate the turbo function, jab combo would become more difficult as you can't control your timing anymore.I'm just using dualshock 3 no wonder most people i play with are so good with jab combos... We understand if nobody wants to confess... |

QUOTE(hatred___ @ Sep 18 2009, 11:49 PM) That was actually Armor Cancel Ultra. Or Ex-Cancel Ultra. Or Ex Kara Cancel. I dun think you can start any ex move with that " Back + PP/KK ", shouldn't it be front? And also you are implying that ex dash punch can be cancelled into Ultra while absorbing the first hit, really??What he did was simply executed a Ex-Dash Punch (Any variety) which has Super Armor property, absorbed the hit and quickly canceled it into Ultra before the Ex-Dash Punch comes out. Quite easy to execute in training room but very hard in real life match. You might absorb the hit of a quick recovery move eg. light punch and canceled into Ultra. Opponent can block and then punish. The execution input for the Ex-Cancel should be something like this. At least this is how I do it. Back, Front, Back + PP/KK, Front +PPP/KKK. Go try and have fun! |

Mike and hatred,
So about this whole armour cancel into ultra thing, must you absorb 1 hit before you can do the cancel? And must the execution be performed right when you are absorbing the hit or can be done after that? Another question. If you watched the whole series of maeda taison vs ryu games you will see maeda doing that dash forward -> ultra thing several time, no FA involved, can you do that? I tried and failed, the timing is too tricky. |
