Hi, I'm new around here =)
I'm looking for Asus only laptop, which is quite a hard task over here in Kuching Sarawak. So I might consider asking my friend in KL to ship me one. But the problem is, what model? Asus laptop always have awsome specs which I really need them for multimedia and gaming purpose. And of course I need a nice lookign laptop also.

I'm surveyed on some model like M50Vn (which available here in Kuching, RM3999 with Blu-Ray, not sure still available or not). But I'm looking on the net and found a new model of G1 - the G1Sn, which the GPU is quite acceptable... (consider I just sacrifice abit in the GPU of it since it IS a G1 model...)

Ah, how mush G1Sn (with and without Blu-Ray, 9500GS) priced?

I don't think I will looks into other model if G1Sn priced around RM4K... =)
(I googled around and it says less than 4K??)

I tot PC City in Kuching sells Asus laptop...they are Asus Dealer in SWK..maybe you can try call them or maybe try going to their shop lor..

Interesting! So are you actually saying the "windows 7 upgrade DVD" shipped from Asus can actually perform a "Clean Win7 Installation" by formatting the Hard Drive beforehand i.e. just like the "Retail Version Win7 DVD Installer"?

Negative, that's not a 'chocolate keyboard'. Chocolate Keyboard has "concave" key-caps designed to contour to users' fingers such as the one found in K40/50 series or N90 series eg. http://www.notebookreview.com/shared/picture.asp?f=43855

The Keyboard in U series (also in Macbook/Vaio ) is commonly known as "Chiclet" keyboard (Not Chicken though).
"Chiclets" is a brand of chewing gum, and the keyboard known as Chiclet reason being the key-caps shaped like Chiclets chewing gum...

For those who r planning to upgrade to win7 from vista using the Asus Win7 Free Upgrade DVD, please go thru the 'Notices' posted by Asus here http://support.asus.com.tw/technicaldocume...SLanguage=en-us

Basically, if you are not planning to do a Clean Install, i.e. u jus wanna perform an Upgrade from vista, you r advised to manually uninstall all the Asus Utilities, Drivers, Norton Security etc, pls refer to the long list provided in Asus win7 support site above.

Dear Orangegurl  , I wanna check with you on the Asus Express Gate 8sec Bootup, after you clean install win7, have you tested the Dedicated Button/key on top-left side of u80v? Still can boot into Express Gate?
