Samsung is targeting the camera-phone market with its Pixon series, and this latest phone is a result of extensive customer research program, highlighting demand for a camera-phone capable of capturing high-quality photographs and sharing images on the move. In addition to these components, the M810 has certain value-added features, such as speedy access to camera mode, fast shutter speed and quick browsing, turning the capture of high-quality images on cellphones a child’s play.
In addition to having a 12 megapixel sensor, M810 is equipped with a 28 mm wide angle lens, Xenon flash, power LED flash, and autofocus. There is a dedicated camera-power key, giving users fast one-touch access to camera. M810 sports a number of innovative camera features, such as touch autofocus tracking, allowing users to select an object to focus which will be subsequently tracked automatically; and smart auto feature, which automates the scene and mode selection, depending on the scene, object, background, and lighting. The camera also enables geotagging, and video recording with a resolution of 720x480 pixels at 30fps, which makes it a complete camera phone.
With M810, Samsung has decided to turn to AMOLED displays, this one is a 3.1” touchscreen with 720x480 pixels of resolution. It should be noted that AMOLED is lighter on battery consumption and trumps LED by offering better visibility in sunlight. The other specifications include 150 MB internal memory, a microSD memory card slot (expandable to 16GB), GPRS and EDGE, HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. At 108x53x13.8mm, it’s a tad narrower than the original Pixon, which sported a 3.2” TFT screen.
With Samsung Share Pix, M810 users can instantaneously share their images and videos through popular networking sites such as Facebook, Picasa Flickr, MySpace, Photobucket, and Friendster, over Wi-Fi or HSUPA.
