hmm, so the details on the facebook page con us? LOL

anyway, for dance performances, Boogy Jamaz isnt worth our time, only a bunch of fat wannabes trying to do what the cool dudes do nowadays...

see their youtube performance videos and have a nice laugh, all the positive comments they get, are from their friends.

basically i had a friend that challenged them to battle via youtube, and till today (close to 6 months), they havent replied yet, their only answer was "see first"

SPCA Notice Board :

Kempen Kembiri: Neutering & Education Campaign Receives Encouraging Response at Pulau Ketam

On the 27th of June, we made our way over to Pulau Ketam to conduct our first sterilization and education campaign on the island, which was very successful and brought together the SPCA, Dept of Vet Services, University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Stray Dog Committee chairman Mr Loo and volunteers for one noble cause. The Director General of the DVS Dato' Dr Abdul Aziz bin Jamaluddin and his officers were also present to show their support for the operation and chat with the volunteers and residents!

The neutering of 23 dogs (pets and strays) and 7 pet cats was coordinated and carried out by staff from the DVS, SPCA and UPM from 10am – 5pm. The vets and staff arrived the day before to set up the JKK hall and make logistics arrangements with Mr Loo. Volunteers from Save A Stray (SAS) were on hand to assist with the surgery and recuperation. The hall was bustling with activity.

A 30-strong education street-team led by SPCA was also on the ground on Saturday to go door to door to promote neutering and persuade the residents to register to neuter their pets and community dogs at the next session. The team included volunteers from Petster Magazine, INTI College Animal Welfare Society, KDU College, AnimalCare and other enthusiastic individuals. The volunteers were very focused and worked hard to counsel the residents of Pulau Ketam and get them to register their pets to be neutered – they also managed to immediately bring in two more dogs for neutering within the first hour! At the end of the day, we were all encouraged and deeply motivated – with more than 30 animals neutered on Saturday, and 24 animals (12 cats, 12 dogs) registered to be neutered at the next Kempen Kembiri on the 25th and 26th of July 2009!

The Petster team and volunteers from KDU College also managed to rescue two litters of puppies from under a house – 12 puppies in all – and took them back to be fostered and adopted out! Another volunteer also immediately adopted Toby, a dog that had been surrendered by her owner at the JKK Hall. SAS also took 2 injured stray dogs and 4 puppies into their care, and will attempt to rehome them after being treated at a private vet.

Meals and beverages were provided by the DVS and SPCA for the 55 people who were involved in the whole operation. Mr Loo was also very kind and supportive, helping with the logistics and other arrangements for the post-op care for the dogs.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience for everyone involved – a time to get together, learn and share our love for the animals in an effective way - that would improve the lives of both the animals and people on the Pulau Ketam island. We thank all the organizations and individuals who had helped with this campaign – each of you have played an important role in making it a success!

Please stay tuned for our plans for the second Kempen Kembiri on the island during the last weekend of July!

Is this fair?

Two weks ago we were invited by some students from KDU to participate in their Rave2Save event. They were organising fund raising and pledged to hand it over that establlished animal shelter in Ampang. We never asked them for any money - as all we wanted was a venue for an impromptu adoption drive. We were happy when the students asked us to bring the 50 over pups that we have rescued from the streets to be put up for adoption. However, the student in charge called today saying that the big organisation does not want us there because 'we give our dogs and puppies up for adoption for free while they charge for adoptions.' They also pressured the students to keep us us out and so so we have been told not to come. So, pray give us your feedback - is this a case of personal egos geeting in the way of helping the strays? The same thing happened when Furry Friends Farm started rescuing dogs from Pulau Ketam - nasty things were published about the sanctuary in the media by those affliated to the organisation. Is this fair? All we want is a venue where these unfortunate puppies can be put-up for adoption. Why deny us that? Why deny the poor strays a chance to secure homes? We want to hear from you - please tell us what you think.

This is really unfair. Seriously those greedy-money-minded organization, they should just go bankrupt and offer themselves up for adoption.

""greedy-money-minded organization"" haha!!!
actually we cannot use words like this for them...
have you been FFF before??
i pay them a visit 2 times last month. i found that some of the dogs inside the shelter is not in good condition. i know that FFF is a no kill animal shelter , not like Spca. but the problem is, they didnt have enough full time worker, the volunteer only come when they are free. Poor puppy...
Maybe next time u guys just pay a visit to the shelter, then u will know the answer. HAHA!!

When making any comparison/comments please make sure that you get your facts right.

If in any case a13solut3 is referring to FFF as "greedy-money-minded organization", then you should first check out FFF, join their activities and see what they actually do. They are only volunteers helping out, participating in activities and so on. If they really earn money, i also wanna know come from where i would like to earn money too biggrin.gif

SPCA charges for adoption because there are fees involved in the maintenance of these sheltered animals (eg: health, jabs, etc etc). You cannot blame SPCA for charging an adoption fee because they are a big company and money is needed to continue running the shelter.

If there is anyone to be blamed, first look at the organisers. KDU were the ones who invited people to come, and if they want to reject people because "a bigger organisation prefer others not to be there", then who is to blame?

"those greedy-money-minded organization, they should just go bankrupt and offer themselves up for adoption"
Maybe you should try working for them, and see for yourself what is it all about smile.gif

Just my 2 cents worth.

SPCA Notice Board - Pulau Ketam Rescued Dogs

13 Ketam Dogs Find New Home at Bentong Farm

Thirteen of our rescued Pulau Ketam dogs have found a new home with the Lotus Life Liberation Farm in Bentong, Pahang ! Thanks to the unwavering efforts of Dr Chan Kah Yein from AnimalCare, a new animal-rescue group and the big hearts of the founders of LLLF, the dogs will share a new, beautiful home with geese, goats, cows and 25 other dogs!

On the 2nd of August, our vet Dr Joe, volunteer Roli, Dr Chan and her friends made a trip to Bentong, transporting Karishma, Liberty, Piccolo, Piccola, BooBoo, Cuddly and Buddy to their new home. Getting them into the SPCA van was difficult, as the dogs were nervous and frightened. However, after some gentle coaxing by the staff and volunteers of AnimalCare and SPCA Selangor, they were safe in the van and on their way!

Brother Sui of LLLF and his helpers welcomed the entourage, while the resident dogs also curiously sniffed and wagged their tails. The workers and Brother Sui had been busy constructing the enclosure for the dogs, and it was almost completed.

”Once inside the enclosure, the dogs very quickly displayed a change of temperament - they were clearly happy and relieved. The change was almost instantaneous and almost miraculous! Wow...to be able to stretch and walk about was fun!! We put out the vegetarian dog kibbles for them and a few of them ate it up voraciously,” says Dr Chan.

Bro Sui informed us that this enclosure is just a temporary shelter to let the dogs adjust to the new surroundings, and once they have settled down they will be free to roam the grounds like the other resident dogs – what bliss and happiness shall fill their hearts!

“This is a beautiful place, with such positive energy. The dogs will definitely be happy here,” comments Dr Joe. The team was also treated to a feast of durians from the orchard, and before leaving went back to say good-bye to the dogs. All of them appeared to have calmed down, and wagged their tails when they saw Roli coming. We’re excited about our next trip with AnimalCare to the farm on the 13th of August, when another 6 dogs will be relocated in the wide, green, grassy paradise for animals!

Visit www.myanimalcare.org/ to view more photos and stories ! >>

[cool.gifWould You Like To Support These Dogs? [/B]

We welcome food donations of rice and dog kibbles (strictly vegetarian only) for the dogs at the LLLF. If you would like to help with the upkeep of the dogs, kindly send your contributions to the SPCA Selangor Animal Shelter by 12th July 2009. We will transport the food to the LLLF during our next trip on the 13th of July. After that, we will be coordinating with the suppliers to deliver directly to the farm on a monthly basis. For enquiries, please drop us a line at enquiries@spca.org.my ! We all can play a part in these dogs ‘happily-ever-after’, every bit counts!

Terry & Cotton Go Home – Together!

AnimalCare volunteer Lilian and her friend Samantha visited the SPCA Animal Shelter on the 2nd of August to meet our dogs and puppies for adoption, as well as our rescued Ketam dogs. Much to our delight, Samantha and her family returned the next day and adopted Terry, Cotton and another dog from the SPCA Animal Shelter. Many thanks to this wonderful family for opening their hearts and home to our dogs, and taking them into a new, exciting chapter in their lives! Other Ketam dogs like Mr Miracle, Kourtney, Wowow, Fifi, and Lucky have found great homes too, which leaves only another 13 Pulau Ketam dogs to be rehomed !
