yamaha is expensive, but not really overprice. you can definitely get some keyboard more or less the same contents with less money, but sometime yamaha keyboard will have something special to give you a 2nd thought. things like easy usage, compatilibity, certain articulations, unique features like vocal harmonize.
you can say it's overpriced, in a way. say, stegea electone custom is about RM40k+, so you'll think ok i can buy few flagship keyboards and setup like a organ, but for maybe half 2/3 of the price and it's much more portable. but the electone is capable of program and change banks realtime and it's easy to do so, can't do that so easily with the keyboards, especially talking about syncronize them. on top of that, yamaha is probably the only company who come out with horizontal touch (imagine you just bend your finger on your key to the left, it'll pitch lower, to the right, it'll pitch higher, just like pitch bend, or should i say, horizontal key aftertouch, you can do guitar sliding without pitch bend), and it's only on their top electones.
...that said, whether you need them, is different story. so choose according to what you want loh.

ya, need to know wat kind of keyboards that I need, but seriously PSR really blows me away.
The PSR got some really cool functions, really wanna try it out.. man.. can't wait to put my hands on it.
I just checked some videos on Youtube, PSR S900 serious.. it sounds fantastic!!
and I checked Roland, and Korg too..
Compare Yamaha PSR S900, Roland E80, Korg pa588,Roland E60, Korg pa500 etc..
personally I like PSR..

headache after watching so many videos..
