Hi guys, i am planning to buy a new set of home theater for my living room and entertainment room. Where should i start? I read through the forum, some of the shops mention here are A&L, CMY, desa, perfect hi-fi, anymore shops to recoomend?
From the way i see it Amcorp mall has a few AV shops in it, so i guess is best to start there?

Think as usual it's best to start by defining your budget then decide where 2 go.

The budget should be 5k or less. This set will be put in the living room, mainly for playing bluray or dvd. I guess with my budget a 5.1 is just enough for it.
I saw a few pics some of them mount a small rear speaker up on the wall, that is the rear speaker? no more those huge standing rear speaker already?

That is around the same budget of my entry level setup :
Onkyo 606 : RM1700 (bought in Singapore) Mission M33i Front : RM1200 Mission MH3 Center + Surround : RM950 Wharfedale SW150 : RM1300
Yes, now rear speakers are usually small bookshelf or di/bipole speaker.
