My sales agent told me KL car plate pricing is RM 210 if choose, RM 310 if u advance (say from 6000 to 9000), is this true? As my friend told me the pricing is definitely more than that, impossible for RM 310 for advance number. Anyone knows?

The prices stated seems to be the same for all state i guess... Rm200 if u choose, RM300 for "offseason" number within the same alphabet series(when the running number not yet reach 5000, but u want 5XXX-9XXX number...

no u cant, u have to wait for the alphabet to open then only u can choose, now is WSS, u can only choose WSS 7***, tomorrow will be WSS 8***, every following day the number will increase 1000

if u wan WST u have to wait for the first day of WST 1***

RM210 is for the number that opens today, which means WSS 7***, if u wan a later number, like WSS 8*** or 9***, it costs RM310

special numbers like 1, 2, 3 4.....11, 12, 13, 14....or 888, 999 are very different price smile.gif u have to book first, then they will choose who to give...

also for a RM310 price number, u may only have 2 numbers the same, means 1988 or 1989, 3 same numbers like 8889, 1188 or 4545 are different price...

RM300 for advance number, RM200 if follow but choose the number at the range

RM10 for processing fees that JPJ charge

the special number you mentioned is up for tender. Meaning like now WST, maybe WSW already up for tender. Lets say 2months ago nobody tender no.8 (just an example IF NO ONE TENDER IT),and nobody buy the number before you, then you will be able to choose no.8 at rm210 only

BTW, JPJ won't choose who to give, they will give the number to the person who tender the number at the highest price (for example I pay RM10000 for WST1, you pay RM5k, then I will win the number)

QUOTE(keithmin @ Jun 30 2009, 05:58 PM)

Totally wrong, only either RM210 for the same range of number, or RM310 for advance

For tender number, u can extend up to max 6 months.
For buying number, u can extend up to max 3 months.

*U have to extend it 1 month by 1 month.

My number to be tendered (future number but not any special number) was RM400, I was in KL and I ordered a Penang plate.

In KL surely must be cheaper !

Applicants who have settled their payments should register their numbers within THREE (3) month from the date of the result.

Hi all,

I would like to check on what are the possibility of getting a car plate number WTH 8xxx/ 9xxx as the current running number is WTH8447 as I will be dropping by JPJ on Monday.

I would also like to confirm on the documents to bring along as currently I read that some says only bring IC and some says bring along your car booking form.

Hope someone can share their experience over here as it'll be really helpful as I do not trust the "runners" to do the job.

Thanking everyone in advance. smile.gif

Hi all,

I'm back from JPJ. Wanna share my brief experience while in JPJ Setapak. There was no crowd when I arrived at 7.20am. Took the form at the counter and was told to go upstairs to proceed with the registration. Went up and studied a while the numbers on the screen. Took a number and waited less than 5 minute for my turn to choose my number. Spent only 10 minutes to get my number as most of the numbers are already taken.Paid RM210 and no documents are needed if you're going there yourself.
Just bring yourself and plenty of cash. smile.gif

My advice to people who wants to get your own number, don't bother looking at the screen. I feel is faster to just give the person in charge your own chosen number and let them check. Always do your homework before going over, check the last running number to gauge what's the next number. WTH is the last day today as is running @ 9000++ so WTJ will come soon.

Wish all of you good luck in obtaining your lucky number.

Bro. Just pay a visit to JPJ near your place. There have a listing of all the popular number and the minimum price if you are bidding. Now is open for bidding for WWH and close on 27/12/2011. On average, 10 or 11 calendar days will jump one alphabet(the third one of coz).
FYI now the running sequence as of last Friday 5.30 pm was WWE1xxx. On a normal day it will move between 1000 to 1500 numbers. So it will take 6-7 working days to jump 1 alphabet. Once the tender result is out and if you wn the bid, you will have to register at Wangsa Maju JPJ and according to the officer that i spoke to , that is the only branch to register, but i don't know how true is that.
Hope that helps. biggrin.gif

Not all number reserve price is the same. You can go to JPJ and see the minimum price for the popular number. To bid a number you need to fill up a form and write the price you want to bif for. If more than one bidder for the same number, the highest will win it.Today is closing for WWH already and tomorrow will start WWJ immediately i think. By my calculation , WWW will open for bidding sometime near the end of April or beginning of May. biggrin.gif

That is just mu estimate but once it is open for tender, still take about 3-4 weeks before you can start seeing WWW plate on the road cause there is a gap of 3 alphabets between the running number and tender number.
For example todays running number is WWE17xx as of afternoon but the tender for WWH is already closing.

If your number is not one of those popular numbers, then there is no need to tender for it i think cause you probably can buy it when the running sequence has reached the range of your desired number. Buy over the counter is only 210 if i am not wrong. You kow kow chan go tender for 3 numbers and then got all of it but ended up paying for only one, maybe there will blacklist you. brows.gif

Bro. Jim,
If i do not buy my own number , when the new car come out the number will be allocated by JPJ and even the car dealer cannot choose a better number within the 1000 to 2000 numbers register during the registration date is it?
Coz that day i asked SA if there is any dedcution if i buy my own number , he said no cause car dealer no need to pay for new car number and take the running number allocated to them by JPJ.

will they blacklist? hahaha

well quite difficult to buy it in the running sequence

my 1st choice is in the "interesting number"
2nd choice is in the "popular number"
3rd choice is 305 or 1212

1212 is definitely one of the popular number that you need to tender if you want to have it.
As for 305, probably not, unless someone out there also has an affection for it due to certain reason, which might be tendering for it.
I am also looking for the same number as my current ride for WWW and it is not a popular number but i will still tender for it to make sure I have a higher chance of getting it. icon_rolleyes.gif

Can you show the link for popular number on JPJ website?

I probably will put the minimum amount cause my number is just very very ordinary. Not even a double digit in it.
Not that i have hit lottery prize with it but somehow i just love to keep this number for my future ride.

I thought all 2 pair of twin digits numbers are popular. But it should be a high demand number and many will bid for it. I will go to JPJ tomorrow to check for you what was the winning bid for 1212 in the recently announce result

Sorry bro. I left already and didn't take note of those number winning bid.

WWG 1 is 80K plus.

12 probably is close to or more than 5 digit sum as far i can remember from previous result.

Most popular 4 digit number (not those with same digit like 1111,2222 etc.) is a few thousand ringgit and those with 8 will fetch more.

1616 also nobody bid. (In chinese means 'one piece one piece'). Doesn't sound very nice.

Don’t see the big deal in ‘WWW’ number plates? Reports emerged earlier this week saying that vehicle owners will be allowed to bid for personalised vehicle registration numbers (NPP) from 2013. Cars, bikes, lorries and buses are eligible, but not taxis. There’s clearly a demand for such things, so it makes sense for JPJ to increase their revenue.

“The NPP is one of the new initiatives by the JPJ to members of the public. We will be able to introduce it once our computer system is upgraded and new security features are incorporated,” said JPJ director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan. JPJ was allocated RM282 million to upgrade its system as part of the Government Transformation Programme.

Solah explained that the bidding exercise will be divided into two categories, namely exclusive and non-exclusive. A non-exclusive NPP can belong to more than one individual while an exclusive one is the property of one person. The non-exclusive NPPs will be cheaper and offered via a tender exercise. For exclusive NPPs, JPJ will determine the cost to the bidder.

“The bidder will then have the right for the NPP from numbers 1 to 9999,” he said, adding that the JPJ had yet to finalise the cost for the NPPs. Also not yet finalised is the the number of characters that would be allowed for such registration plates.

Current vehicle owners can bid too, but they will need to buy a new vehicle to place their existing number on. Finally, our cars can wear their names with pride. In my dreams, I have a cili padi called Megan. What’s yours?
