guys, i was wondering if there is any good media player out there that can play RMVB? actually i have a cheap media player using 3.5" HDD but it doesn't support RMVB. i don't need HD yet at the moment since all my media are not HD. i saw there is an update for WDTV that can play RMVB, is that good? hmm.... or maybe i shd get a larger LCD, and connect to my laptop to view?

There are alot of made-in-china RM players out in the market today. Just goto lowyat and check around. Since HDMI connetivity is not required, price should be circa RM200. I came across one model at Digital Mall PJ that had 1080p HDMI that plays practicall every video format (avi, rmv, mkv etc) and the price was just under RM500. Can't remember the brand exactly but it was something like Colmal or something like that. According to http://www.wdc.com/en/products/wdtv/ArcSoft Update (6/11/2009) RMVB file conversion added. Wondering if it works too as I find the WDTV to be one of the better looking media boxes out there today. This post has been edited by richard912: Jun 29 2009, 02:36 PM

ChangLing 668 is better then RCA L8H even though they are using the same chip (from the menu layout) as I have both... http://list.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/List.as...A=A&CategoryID=I used ChangLing668 on 46" LCD TV and they still ok to watch. You may find cheaper rmvb player around as I think ChangLing668 and RCA L8H is consider high end model since it supports 1080p w/ HDMI... Both ChangLing and RCA can both show chinese character without any problem as I believe they are using the same chip. Yes, they both have english menu.

eh guys, is it true that NOT all external HDD casing or media player can support up to 1.5-2TB HDD? i check with the shop here just now, 1.5TB seagate HDD 7000rpm 32MB is RM509, but he told me that his casing and rmvb player only support up to 500GB. he then recommend me the WD passport or something, with 1TB and casing at RM439. i wonder if its true.
