hey guys, just a few questions about n85 cause i'm quite interested in getting myself one..
first of all.. the keypad.. why some of the unit's keypad is like some arabian word on it whereas some keypads are just simple..? is there difference on the source of the phones or something?
secondly.. apparently the n85's speaker isnt really good? is there something you can do to improve? or this problem refers to the earlier batch?

I dunno if can do anything about it or not :/
I didn't really mind the sub-par speaker quality. I use my earphone most of the time.

2. Erm, things like camera, GPS, speaker, FM transmitter, bluetooth, musc player, memory card.

all n85 has preinstalled gps? is that service free?

If you choosing slider type phone then you cannot avoid from ribbon problem... Better go for not sliding type then you can avoid ribbon problem...

If you still want sliding type phone then minimize sliding usage.

thanks bro... i think i'll look at both the phones and decide based on how i feel towards the phones.. thats all i can do.. tongue.gif

*

Could you explain, what was the difference?
*
well.. if its a local set, should it support local networks?

anyway guys.. i have a question.. this new set i got, the color of the oled buttons are yellow instead of white, & the center board is not shiny like my gf's set which is the first batch... the color is rather solid copper..
according to the seller, he said phones tend to change it outlook abit from time to time... the last batch of the phone will definitely be slightly different compared to the first batch, sometimes its for improvement purpose.. is that true?

because i was thinking, if this happens.. what happened to quality control??

Your phone is Ap or Original? I never heard that the outlook of the phone will be change from time to time.

you sms a lot?
By the way, my phone battery got a problem. The day before the battery kong , i used GPS and take quite some photo and the battery bars still full. Then the next day , i check the phone battery bar and it still full ..so i take a picture and use GPS for a while suddenly power saver mode activated and my battery bar just left 1...and after a while the phone shut down. Does anyone of you have the similar problem?
*
mine ap... i think my battery can only last 2 days as well.. 1 day's like half bar gone edi... lol
thought n85 battery can last wan?

What you normally do with your phone? For me like just mp3 and sms(not alot ) my phone can last for 4-5 days.
Er..i doubt that your phone might not be 1st hand..and i'm not very sure of it. You need to confirm it with someone else.
*
well... it was actually my first day using it... obviously there wasnt any mp3 playing, not much of sms, less than 30 i suppose? and some calls...

i'm pretty sure my seller wont confirm that for me.. haha
who can i refer to then?

at least n85 got usb charging...
take the opportunity to charge it when it is on pc suite

and make sure u close the apps completely whenever when u finish with it dy
*
but charging is one thing, battery can last or not is another..
besides... isnt it bad to keep charging a electronic device? dont they have like a charging lifespan? things like laptop, phone and things like that...

oh by the way, apparently laptops cannot be overcharged, like as soon as its full.. u have to plug out? some goes to phones?

QUOTE(mkn @ Dec 31 2009, 05:45 PM)
hi

I got a couple of questions about n85:

-Is this "normal" that keypad backlight doesn't come up when I power on the phone , and then slide the keypad?
I need to use keylock once before it lights up. And after that, keypad backlight works normal when i need to slide it out.

-I surfed with my phone to a web page where you can test dead pixels on your phone screen, and I did the test and
noticed that against blue background I see one pixel that is black. On other background colors that pixel looks yellowish kinda hard to spot, but its there.
So I is this dead pixel or dead _blue_ pixel or dead subpixel or stuck pixel or what...
I don't really know much about these pixel technology things  hmm.gif
and is it possible to try to fix that somehow?  unsure.gif
*
guys i got quite similar problem about the keypad light as well...
my keypad light doesnt seem to be on all the time.. even when my oled lights are on, the keypad's not...
whats ur opinion towards this?

Not true...my N79 is a year old now and it still last as the same as when I first bought it.

Generally it last about 4-5 days with average usage.

With GPS, yes, need to charge the same day (GPS use for at least 4-6 hrs).

The trick is to let the battery to fully discharge, turn your phone off and then charge, do this atleast once a month.  nod.gif

mine explaining why?

as long u charge till the battery's animation stops den it is done.

u dont need to wait the phone's battery to finish completely only u charge. u can consider to charge it when it is half level or below
*
done means i have to pull out? or can i leave it there?

anyway guys, i officially announce my new phone's battery went low in just 1 day..
take note :
new phone
battery 1 day

what should i do now?
