Lights Out (2016)

Have you heard of the saying, ignorance is bliss?

Well, when it comes to this movie, it sure is.

I knew very little about this movie going in. Just based on word of mouth really and...

I like IT!!!

Warner Brothers is currently definitely the King of horror (Shame on you Universal).

Having said that with the newly minted Mummy/Dracula/Frankenstein movies Universal had planned (and produced by Mr Tom Cruise), starting 2017,  that may change.

Back to the movie, having no expectations, I enjoyed the movie immensely.

The concept is fresh though not new (if you are an avid Youtuber, you probably seen something very similar).

Some people had mention that this is as good as if not better compared with The Conjuring 2 (2016)...

I personally will not go so far. It is definitely better compared with Demonic (2015) and  at best it is at par with Deliver Us from Evil (2014).

Good job, Warners, for now.

My Two Sen.

The Mummy (2017) - must see. I wonder if this film closely echoes the earlier film of the same name.

Coming from Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill. Interesting premise with enough mystery hook to invest on the characters. The ending a little predictable but OK for what it is. A mysterious corn field that lure unsuspecting victims to trap in a time loop nightmare. Very "Lost-esque". Watchable to pass time and not a horror breakthrough.

i saw the trailer but don't think will watch it because the principle is don't go into a place where you cant see the exit!

I recently watched Pusaka (2019) . I really find it not bad for Malaysian setting. Scary at times and good acting from the main cast!

Top 3 from me, all of them released in 2020!

1. Becky - A teenager's weekend at a lake house with her father takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts wreaks havoc on their lives.
Totally enjoyed this one!

2. The Invisible Man -When Cecilia's abusive ex takes his own life and leaves her his fortune, she suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of coincidences turn lethal, Cecilia works to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.
It is a good movie and worth the watch!

3. Brahms: The Boy II - After a family moves into the Heelshire Mansion, their young son soon makes friends with a life-like doll called Brahms.
Low budget but great.
