The hardcore disturbing...I mean no holds barred and borderline pornographic. If you are conservative...I mean easily got offended or not open minded enough...so don't bother with these two. These are not your straight ghost story type of horror but will test your limit.
Martyrs - Either you gonna hate it to the bone or you will love it dearly. Watch only the OG French version and not the US remake.
A Serbian Film - Millenials equivalent of Cannibal Holocaust. It's the most disgusting torture porn ever made that need to be seen to believe. You watch it for the sake to have bragging rights. Make sure your parent or significant other are not aware you've watched it because it's that morally bankrupt. You wish you can drink Dettol to wash away the aftertaste.
The award winning type...if you can endure The Shining then you should be OK with these.
Let the right one in - Twilight my ass...this is how you do a proper vampire romance.
The Others - That ending....
The Orphange - Del Toro "godfather" this great Spanish export.
Goodnight Mommy - A psychological horror from Sweden.
Audition - You will bore yourself out for the 90% of the time....when that bloody ending happens. It's pure evil genius.
The Wailing - Just watch it without even bother to know what it is. It's that good.
The commercial types...
Rec - The first 2 movies quite good...again watch only the OG Spanish version.
The Descent - A Pre-GOT Cersei in it...quite good.
The Babadook
It Follows
thanks bro.
have seen Martyrs and liked it. Have seen a few good French horror since.
Serbian film - was gonna get until I read there's a scene about a child getting abused. That's a big NO. Have a high tolerance for movies but not when involving children.
My rule number one - Avoid any US remake at all cost. case in point - REC
Liked Shining (the movie) but after reading the book my score for the movie has reduced
Babadook is EXCELLENT! I have seen the rest EXCEPT for Twilight (less said the better)
Will look for Audition and The Wailing.
Since you are a horror aficionado, I'm sure you have seen Wolf Creek (the first), Splinter, The Loved Ones, Dog Soldiers, Kill List, Sevwerance to name a few also Eden Lake (a different type of horror)
Thanks again. Appreciate any further suggestions of horror you have seen.
