I prefer horror movies that does not use blood and gore to scare. Or even better...very few or no one dies at all.
Kinda like The Orphanage, The Sixth Sense, and Paranormal Activity.

I just watched the so called greatest horror movies of all time. The Exorcist and The Shining.
Didn't find it scary at all! I don't know.. maybe it was considered scary back then. Or maybe it looked too old fashioned for me. Or maybe it could even be because I watched it during the day time (in a dark room though). I just find it really slow and draggy. The type of music used that pierces your ears during the scary parts also really bugged me. It was used too often until my ears hurt and had to turn down the volume. I also thought the kids getting possessed looked funny, ridiculous, and even stupid. Not sure if I ever want to watch another 70's or 80's horror movie again. I have Poltergeist with me now and I'm wondering if that'll be another dissapointement. For your info, some of my favorite horror movies are The Phone (watched it 10 years ago so not sure if its still considered scary now), Paranormal Activity (the first one), REC, Triangle, Grave Encounters, Shutter (Thai version), The Orphanage, Dark Water (Japanese version), Final Destination, 28 Weeks Later (does that count?), and Ju-On. Those are the ones I can think of now. I kinda prefer those that deal with the supernatural than zombies. I'm not really a big horror fan but sometimes when I'm in the mood I just like to scare myself silly. This post has been edited by masterelr: Feb 17 2013, 12:47 AM |

I just watched this movie called Megan Is Missing.
Its about two best friends. One of them met this guy online and after a few days she went out to meet him and never came back. A few days later the other girl also disappeared. The last 20 minutes shows what happened and it has got to be one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. This is based on a true story and the best thing is whatever happens in this movie is something that will happen in real life. In fact its something that's happening right now. If you want to watch a good horror movie that's not about monsters or ghost, this is it. Kinda like Get Out except without the comedy and 10 times more disturbing.
