Dead Air (Hong Kong 2009)

Now this is an interesting piece of work.

Acted by mainly unknown (to me anyway)M the only person I recognise is the policeman.

A tv show director had a bad day, drank and drove and crashed into a tree. Gets out of his car and hears a voice calling for help.

He sees a shape of a lady lean by a tree and a baby crying. The lady calls for help again and the guy helps her to deliver her baby (who is already half way out) only to discover the lady is already dead...

Her ghost know haunts the director, who surprisingly ask her to help him create a new tv show!!?

The story is interesting.

Strong first act, second act dipped a little and third act picked up a little.

Very low budget movie, but the actors pushed the movie on.

Worth a watch.

Want horror? Watch Grotesque (or better known as Gurotesuku)... and that's horror.

Agreed BOTH Jeepers Creepers ARE recommended!

Hmmm... Jeepers Creepers is good. Jeepers Creepers 2 felt more like an action although its same par as the first film.

And true, that director is a pedo

Shocking...

Makes me think about another case (not related to pedo but seriously sick), director Lee Tamahori (of Die Another Day) was also a convicted of a crime. laugh.gif

To each of their own, everyone has their own "horror moment" in their life time.

Some say was this... others say its that...

For me, if it gives a good scare and has a good plot to scare the nerves out of our skin, that's a good horror movie.

Drag Me to Hell is good, but it's not horrific... more of its disgusting (all the spews, vomits and... ugh...). I love Raimi's first Evil Dead, even though its also not horrific.

I have yet found a movie that gives me nightmares (besides mov_freak's Twilight moment laugh.gif )... but I do love the original Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street; when I was young it "was" scary... but these days, its nothing but gore and grotesque and more gore and more grotesque... even the effects do look fake.

Japanese... Koreans... Americans... Europeans... to each of their own, they have their own scary movies...

By the way, anyone seen Lamberto Bava's Demons? It is not scary but that's what I call a scary effect. brows.gif

this. im not big fan of horror movie simply because i dont believe in ghost generally. something to do with my faith. so no matter how scary it is, i just think, 'meh, thats not plausible'..  tongue.gif

just limit myself to 'non-ghost horror movies'..

This is what I enjoyed in 2010 NOT in any order

The Crazies - good spin on the zombie genre
Daybreakers - interesting twist in Vampire lore
The Last Exorcism - I cannot emphasis enough how much I like this movie. The fact that it is LOW budget only adds to it!!
Shutter Island - A Dark Psychological ride. Goooood....
Devil - I STILL love M. Night Shyamalan's writing
Piranha - It is SO bad it is ACTUALLY good!!
A Nightmare on Elm St Not many people would agree with me but I thought it was decent!!
