QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Jan 10 2011, 11:00 PM) This is what I enjoyed in 2010 NOT in any order MF have u watched human centipede? with a title like this, i'm pretty impressed with the director showing restrain and the ending just blew my mind.btw took me three sittings to get through this. talking about gore and nudity i'm surprised no one mentioned dream home by edmond pang. a perfect double bill with love in a puff. The Crazies - good spin on the zombie genre Daybreakers - interesting twist in Vampire lore The Last Exorcism - I cannot emphasis enough how much I like this movie. The fact that it is LOW budget only adds to it!! Shutter Island - A Dark Psychological ride. Goooood.... Devil - I STILL love M. Night Shyamalan's writing Piranha - It is SO bad it is ACTUALLY good!! A Nightmare on Elm St Not many people would agree with me but I thought it was decent!! My Two Sen |

frosty u forgot to include sex between horror and exploitation.
interesting trivia Silip was produced in a Golden Age of Philippine Cinema which came about because Imelda Marcos, wife of the President and a former actress, wanted cinema to have a larger footprint in the Philippines, and prompted her husband to withdraw all censorship. The sudden uncharacteristic burst of freedom led to a group of particularly graphic films called "pene" films, because they featured actual penetration on screen. Silip is one of the best, if not the single best of the pene group. Don't confuse these films with the low-budget American films shot in the Philippines during the same era. Yes, Silip is an exploitation movie, but it also provides a genuine window into life in a remote Philippine village, reveals the influence of the Catholic church there, and demonstrates the natural and healthy obsession with sex that the church tried to suppress. |
