I thought so too, some kind of loophole

There's no hope at all for you to disable it without a phone call or uy a prepaid card (told by LIVE support, not proven)

I've ended up need someone @ SG to pretend to be me.Then only the agent said actually I can email them 2 call me back but never tried that.

I'm now using a cheap gold subscription from Maximuscards.com. RM151 per year.

Conclusion - it's some sort of trap to Malaysian

eBay is selling 12+1 cards for ~30USD. USA accounts though.

The SGD1 for gold i for 1st month only.

Thereafter they'll charge you full price until you change to a prepaid card OR call up LIVE support which as I mentioned, impossible to call from malaysia.

Shouldn't be a problem since its my sister that used the card to pay for the XBL , she could easily call microsoft and terminate the subscription . They SHOULD be helpful

I might experiment with an Aussie pal (AUS account) soon on this.

EDIT: They sell physical cards for 33USD. If anything we know the cards work everywhere, so by assumption the electronic codes are just the same.

Live Gold were sometimes region locked, sometimes not
I have no idea why or whether this is still in effect

gold subscription doesnt works world wide anymore bro.

i purchase 1 month (for testing purpose) from maximuscard.com and cant use the code. when i email them regarding this, they said MS performed some sort of maintenance last week and the code has been region lock since then. so they refund back my money.

betulka memang tak dapat guna lagi xbl dari maximuscards..... semalam saya beli utk setahun tapi tak dapat guna apahal hah???

i think need to wait bro. if u go to ur xbox network test connection, MS state there that they having problem with marketplace after the maintenance.

mybe it will be fix soon. or mybe not.

I've just realized that the Auto Renewal is activated after I renewed my account with a prepaid card.

Then I just emailed to their service support and they really called me up on "next working day" which is Monday and cancelled the subscription regardless I'm in supported country or not!

Summore the greet me with "Thank you for calling XBOX LIVE SUPPORT" which they're the one actually calling me. haha.

Kudos to XBOX LIVE Service support team!
