Parkson is included maybe due to its industry, because it is the biggest. makes more sense than to put TheStore, right ? LOL

The difference is that previously they use 100 stocks to compute the CI, now become 30 stocks.

Those stocks are being ditched out one, still remain the same, nothing change, except some fund managers may need to dispose them if their funds objective is to track CI performance.

Not necessarily. It would gain more exposure and volume, but does not mean will go up. But this does not change from before because they were already the big movers.

More importantly, the smaller cap companies might lose some FF due not being in the 'Main' index anymore. Although they still play a role in the top 100 index.

If you choose the right counters at right price, most of you will easily beats the new index.

The best performers in recent rally are not from index linked counters.

I wouldn't say like that, as those penny stocks are hardly hit in recently slump, so they tend to bounce up more.

Overall, even in US, junk bond and low quality stocks, low cap are the best performer, rising 50%, 100% or even more from March low. But bare in mind also, they are the hardest hit previously as well.

Index linked counter generally come from big cap and steady company or so called blue chip company, so their volatility generally lower compared to low cap.
