anyone here wear non-sirim helmet.. coz planning to buy helmet from oversea.. huhu.. share ur experience plz..

is it ok to wear those non-sirim sticker helmet here?
coz afraid if got roadblock, then jpj/police will check the helmet also.. then they ask to replace with rempit helmet...

i Dont know whether is it approved here or not. but they wont check ur helmet as long as the helmet u wear looks like a motorcycle helmet. i used to wear a non sirim helmet. din check at all.

sometime jpj if find ur helmet look too nice then they will check...
dunno why, even if the helmet got approve from snell and dot (better than sirim, oversea qc) , but no sirim also they want to rampas...

luckily my agv got sirim sticker so they let me go la...

use RM50 note, replace da SIRIM sticker.

Ya if u are worried just do this.
I got a few helmets ordered online with DOT stickers but no SIRIM.
I just used a SIRIM sticker from another helmet and paste on LOL
So far never get asked about the helmet even during roadblocks.
But it's just look like regular full faced helmet so maybe they dont bother.

lol! those helmet without sirim they all rampas from a shop laa...i always ride to genting before those jpj where got rampas my helmet...

Same here. No sticker polis will gip problems. Easy solution? Just get a sticker from an old helmet.

I wunder if someone wearing a helmet without SIRIM sticker, if accident mati . . . the insurance will cover a not . .

If you have any accident and you aren't wearing a helmet with a SIRIM sticker (or at least isn't certified to standard), then no, insurance will not cover you. Much like how they wouldn't cover you if your tyres were bald.

Not sure whether the insurance company will go to the emergency responders a few days after you died to ask for your helmet since they can't ask you directly whether your helmet is sirim certified or not. Most likely you helmet will end up in the garbage bin already by the time the insurance company starts working on your case.
