arremie,

I believe they used the same VC-1 encode. I don't believe they said the PQ is better.

So the real difference between the two 300 Blu-rays are the extra digital copy disc & some pages of a booklet? hmm.gif

I believed so but I'm looking forward for the improvement they claimed. If not then can simply buy original version from UK for GBP8.98 only

I have never seen the BD version before but I have watched this movie. It is boring and the storyline can be confusing. (If I elaborate further then it's a spoiler already) If you have been a fan of this movie then go ahead otherwise you are not missing anything. (In my personal opinion)

I don't know. When I found out the director, Neil Blomkamp was going to direct HALO, I was curious and googled his name. Watched 2 short movies and some commercials he directed. Really fell in love with the short movies, one is Tempbot and the other is Alive in Joburg which this new movie is based on. Here's Alive in Joburg:

I actually likes Tempbot more, really touching about a new robot assigned to work at some office, reflects a lot about what happens when we, humans, are starting to work at a new company. Both short movies has some echos to the aparthied history in South Africa.

Yeah, same dilemna here, some more people still dowan tell me what the buku is?!! cry.gif

But no matter what visual 'improvements' in this newer version, still dun expect reference quality visuals as Zack purposely 'imperfect' this film. Its mainly CGI so he added all these grits and grains in the movie. To make it more, err... gritty and 'film-like'. The price diff is a lot, and digital copy does nuts to me, thats why I need to know whats in the buku!!! Else, just get the cheapo UK one ler. nod.gif

two-kosong-kosong-satu - PQ is excellent coz Stanley filmed it in err... 70mm? (correct ah, aiman04?). So it makes good transfer to BD.

But the film, artsy-fartsy lo... Early Kubrick mah... If you grew up with doses of Stallone or Scwhhwaaerzzeneggger, this is a good film to watch if you cant sleep. For videophiles, its a classic.

Why dun you also try out Sunshine?

This weekend, must watch 'Troy'. The other day, just test some scenes on D Foster and TDK (after 2nd stage acoustic treatment). Sounds better now. I would omit the LFE thingy (later kena 'blamed' for poisoning), the vocals and clarity are improved. The sense of depth is being improved further. Fantastic!
